Micro blading/ombré brows - anyone regretted it!?

Has anyone had this done and regretted it?? I get my brows tinted but they’re getting thinner as I’m getting older (I’m 35) and the tint doesn’t seem to last very long at all. I’m looking at micro blading or ombré but I’m so worried it’ll look awful and fake and there’s no going back is there!?
Most I see look great but then with every technician I find I’ll be scrolling through and I see something that just doesn’t look right and it puts me right off.
Just seems like a big step to take!

Has anyone done it and regretted it? I don’t wear lots of make up so anything OTT would look daft on me. Or is there another route that I’m missing?

Thank you!

Not personally but a friend of mine had it done a couple of weeks ago & hates it. Must say it does look odd, seems to completely dominate her face. The first few days she found pretty horrendous too & wouldn't leave the house.
I have very pale, thin brows but just stick to a pencil lightly feathered in.

I love my ombré brows. They just look natural but always ‘done’ and frame my face lovely. I still have to dye every 6 weeks or so due to the odd greys but it’s so easy

I had micro blading and very happy with the results. Research the practitioner. I spent so much time pencilling in my brows - little bit of shading if I'm going for a made up look - but otherwise job done. And takes years off,

Not at all. I’m extremely fair and my brows are just part of me now rather than almost invisible and patchy.

I did go to someone £££ in Central London with a good portfolio. Don’t go to someone who does micro blading as a spare income stream from their back room!

Wiennetta · 20/02/2022 08:38

I’ve had micro blading and really love it. Mine is quite low key - it’s filled in where mine were a bit patchy and given me more shape. Nobody has noticed really apart from one colleague who is very interested in beauty and complimented me. Other friends haven’t noticed. It just saves me time and effort in that I don’t have to pencil them in.

I went to El at Perfect Definition and would recommend her. Like @Porridgeislife said I’d go to a real specialist and be prepared to pay.

@Wiennetta I also went to El Truchan! She is a genius.

I am with you, most pics look great but there’s always one in every portfolio that look harsh or ‘angry’ and it puts me off. Maybe you could ask for just a few strokes rather than a full job. I am so picky with my brows that I am too scared to go for it

yorkshireteaspoonie · 20/02/2022 09:04

No I don't regret it BUT you need to research a lot. I have Phi brows which are individual tiny hair strokes. It's important you talk to them about he type of pigment they are using and they should ask you and take into account your skin tone and texture to I.e is it dry or oily? All this affects the outcome

Yay! She’s amazing, I always recommend her!

I had mine done. I didn't regret it but resented the fact I still had to have them tinted and shaped on the same schedule as before. I am at fair, it looked weird when my natural brows grewA

It depends what you have or the people had whose pics you are looking at. Micro blading usually looks pretty natural and you can have as much or as little as you like. The practitioner should drawn the outline in first so you can see what area the micro blading will cover and the shape in advance.

Me eyebrows are microbladed. My brows weee very thin - think 90s brows. Having them done made a massive difference to my face. I didn't like putting make up on them either. I have almost black eyebrows and very pale skin and it just looked odd in my mind.

That said, although I love my microbladed brows, I wouldn't go for shading or ombré (or a combo). Micro blading is the most natural. You might well be looking at combination pictures of micro blading and ombré - they often look more dramatic and done. Loads of people love the r look, but I prefer the more natural look of micro blading. With good micro blading you shouldn't be able to tell someone has even had it done. It also looks more dramatic for the first 2 weeks or so then calms down

Gigia · 20/02/2022 10:31

I'm really pale and had microblading and I love them but I did loads of research first

shootingstars2death · 20/02/2022 10:39

If you go ahead with it do tonnes of research first. Microblading gives a hairline stroke look, ombre brows is more of a single block colour (think of singer Rihannas eyebrows). I have seen both look great and terrible. Remember that if you get microblading the hairline strokes only stay crisp looking for a very short amount of time and begin to blur and lose definition after a few weeks. Brow artists only present their best looking, freshest work on their Instagram pages etc. It can look really good there's an artist called Nez Hasan who does them very well, London based. Personally I bought myself a brow laminating , tinting kit and a wax melter and taught myself with great patience how to maintain them. No tattoo no scarring and can adapt and modify brows as per my desires or the trends etc.
