Bags under eyes - not dark circles

Ok I have dark circles but it's the bags that are pissing me off. I can conceal the dark circles but I haven't got a clue how to stop the puffy eye bags from ruining all make up looks ever.

I'm early 30s and I expect it's genetic as although I have poor sleeping habits and don't drink enough water, I think I was born with bags under my eyes.

Is there any miracle product out there that can tighten the area just temporarily?

My nose is imperfect, my lips are odd, I have an overbite - I wouldn't change any of those things but would have surgery for my undereyes in a heartbeat if the recovery was unnoticeable to even close family. I'd just like to see what a non-tired me looks like 🤣

Following with interest. I use teaspoons from the freezer!

Tellthemagain · 21/02/2022 19:25

laser will do it for a while, but there is about 5 days downtime with it.
in the end I gave up an just had surgery .. wish I'd done that earlier and saved years trying to fix it with all the things that don't work!

Mine are awful now (mid- 40s) look terribly baggy in zoom calls on screen. Think I've lost some elasticity in skin.

Latest I'm using is Origins Ginzing as it claims to brighten and depuff but I can't say it's making much of a difference. Think I need to leave my job & my children to move out to have a chance of sleeping better & eyebags reducing!

CakeAmbushAlert · 21/02/2022 19:33

@Tellthemagain which surgery? Does it last? Cost?

Tellthemagain · 21/02/2022 19:41

lower eye bag removal. it's permanent (u keep aging so some level may come back but essentially it sets you at zero bags until further aging catches up) cost £7k though , but I did go to Harley Street for it as I wanted to know I was in the best hands when its your face being messed with!

CakeAmbushAlert · 21/02/2022 19:45

@Tellthemagain thanks. Is it over in a day & then how much recovery time? Did you tell people you had it done? I can just imagine what my MIL would have to say if I spent 7k on myself on a treatment.

Tellthemagain · 21/02/2022 19:50

yes I was out after about 3 hours I think. quite a quick procedure.. you do need someone to pick u up and spend the night with u because of the anesthesia.
I took 2 weeks off work and after that was able to go back with makeup on so couldn't really tell too much that I had things done. i have v sensitive skin too, so get extra red and puffy at the best of times. so I think some people may have had faster recovery.

I told my own parents but I haven't told anyone else as I'm sure they would judge too. but..its my money and made me feel so much better after years of bothering me!

results just kept getting better for maybe up to 4/5 months post surgery.

Tear trough filler?

dreammattemousse · 21/02/2022 20:13

I'm the same! I wish I had dark circles because they can be covered up

I've just started doing face yoga which apparently can help with the puffiness
It helps lymphatic drainage.
Also trying to sleep better which is hard with two kids.. one who wakes up every night
I haven't had a full nights sleep in nearly 7 years so I'm actually not surprised I look like this..
My sister has them aswell so I'm guessing it's hereditary sigh

I'm only 30 and don't want surgery yet..
maybe in a few years so for now I'm going to try anything else !!
