Wrinkly Hands

Does anyone know of any non-invasive way of improving skin quality on hands? I’m in my early 40s and my hands are showing it a lot! My mother has a lot more wrinkles on her hands than face so it might be genetic but there must be something worth trying. I use a lot of hand cream as my hands are often very dry.

Thanks a lot. Smile

If I am putting product on face will smear on back hands too - better than washing off.
Lots sunscreen hands .
Don’t be too skinny

Mmmm I wish I had got on the sunscreen train sooner. Might be late to start now but maybe better late than never 🙈

Get yourself a hand cream with spf in it and keep it in your handbag so you can reapply after you wash. Also any vitamin c and retinol you use on your face can be used on your hands to help the appearance of sun spots and wrinkles

Thanks. Got sun spots and wrinkles on my hands. Time to treat them better!

Vitamin C drops - amazing difference in such a short time.

Put your face cream on your hands

Mine improve if I drink more water.

@NewbieSM - which hand cream do you use that also has SPF in?

Acrackineverything · 16/02/2022 14:15

(Bear with me!) A chiropodist recommended smearing my feet in vaseline before bed and then wearing thin cotton socks to bed. This is an excellent treatment for dry feet. When I was buying the thin cotton socks in Boots they also had thin cotton gloves, so I got them and gave my hands the vaseline treatment. It really works, I try to remember to do it about once a month. Of course the gloves and socks don't stay on all night but long enough to let the vaseline soak in.

Also as others have said, use any facial products generously on neck, chest and backs of hands.

Put sunscreen on your hands 365 days per year.
Buy care gloves and wear them at night to protect your sheets from getting dirty after you covered your hands in cream.
You can use retinol on your hands, just use the same one that you use for your face if you have any.

Thanks for those tips. My hands could definitely do with some TLC. I’ll get those gloves in Boots. I wish I had started the SPF when I was younger.

Do you use retinol?

I've got into the habit of when I apply to my face I rub the residue onto the back of my hands. And I bought hand-creams with spf in them (a dove one and a Norwegian formula I think).

Means I don't waist retinol on my palms or by washing/drying and I do think it's made a big difference to my hands.

The spf is very important of course.

Thank you. I don’t use retinol on my hands but I’ll definitely start once I start using it on my face again. There are so many retinols on the market that it’s dizzying. I used to get tret on prescription for acne but I’ve stopped that now & just use glycolic acid.
