Non stingy eye make up remover

Everything makes my eye sting! My hg boots basics eye makeup remover pads(sensitive/cucumber) have been discontinued.

So I've invested in some reusable pads but even Simple stings. I don't wan5 to change to a tubing mascara as I love my Benefit Bad Gal, but it takes a lot to get it off.

I use M&S Pure cleansing balm for the rest of my face but it seems to leave a film on my eyeballs iykwim?

Nowhere else is sensitive; the skin around my eye is fine (just old) it's just the stinging inside my eyes makes me want to claw them outGrin

I was thinking about the ByTerry biphase as it's got rose oil in, which I love on my skin and I've got a travel size granite micellar to try out. Had to chuck my Bobbi Brown and Sisley samples as they didn't work out.

Please help meSmile

Garnier do a sensitive micellar water (clear bottle, pink lid) which is great on my sensitive eyes. It definitely removes all the make up.

ExConstance · 15/02/2022 11:34

Clinique "Take off the day" non greasy, effective and doesn't make my sensitive eyes itch.

That's the one I bought in travel size so I can test it. Not wearing make up today though.

@NeverDropYourMooncup

Ponds cold cream or emollient cream, massaged in and then removed with wet muslin. The only things that don't make my eyes burn, moisturises the skin and gets every scrap of makeup off.
I actually have a huge tub of emollient left over from when I had radiotherapy. Might give that a go.

Blephasol, it's really for blepharitis but is also a micellar water. So removes eye makeup and keeps lids healthy, so hopefully reducing any irritation you may have.

LadyEloise1 · 16/02/2022 17:46

My eye lids are burning again today. Aghhh 😢
Is it
the eye pencil ?
the eye make up remover ?
the cotton wool ?
It's just so irritating. Sorry couldn't resist the pun.

AllTheSunshine · 16/02/2022 17:55

Some eye make up remover in a bottle is awful. My eyes get so red and itchy afterwards.

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 16/02/2022 19:11

Clinique lids lashes and lips or Clinique take the day off balm

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 18/02/2022 04:36

Why don’t you like body shop?

I don’t buy anything else from there but the dual phase remover is excellent

I sometimes get the garnier dual phase but unfortunately it has fragrance (whyyy?) so that might not be an option

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 18/02/2022 04:38

Also a balm like Emma hardie or Elemis

Gently massage add a tiny bit of water and it emulsifies to a milk
Definitely doesn’t leave a film

LadyEloise1 · 18/02/2022 09:31

I had to throw out the Body Shop Chamomile remover. It was recommended on Mumsnet. It too irritated my eyelids. Sad

Mistlewoeandwhine · 18/02/2022 09:36

I use the creamy Lacura range from Aldi. You wipe it off with a hot cloth. I have very sensitive eyes and wear lots of mascara. It’s brilliant and cheap too.

Jbck · 18/02/2022 09:51

I used to use the Boots cucumber gel remover but also discontinued 😤

Im using their basics cream eye make up remover, I don’t like it as much, but worth a try maybe?

Inmypjsagain · 18/02/2022 09:54

Bioderma miceller water is the most gentle I’ve used, you can get travel sizes to try.

I also really dislike simple, their cleansers burn!

LadyEloise1 · 18/02/2022 13:04

@Inmypjsagain
Sadly I'm allergic to Bioderma Micellar too. Eyelids swell and become red.
Sad

Frezia · 18/02/2022 16:46

Eucerin DermatoCLEAN Eye Makeup Remover

Shufflebumnessie · 18/02/2022 21:49

In the last couple of years my eyes have become ridiculous sensitive to everything. I got to the point where I thought I was going to have to stop wearing mascara.
Had a horrible reaction to Simple products
I'm now using Bioderma Sensibio H2O micelle solution. It's fantastic. No scent, No colour and it's very effective at removing make up gently.
You can buy mini bottles of it from the Boots travel section to try it and see if you like it. The full size are often on offer online - Feel Unique/Look Fantastic etc.

LadyEloise1 · 16/03/2022 13:12

@Shufflebumnessie
I am allergic to that Bioderma one too. The only one I'm still not totally allergic to is the Avene gel one - I still get a little redness though.
I thought I had found the holy grail in a Clinique ultra gentle one but that too has made my eyelids red and swollen Sad
Next on my list to try is the Eucerin one and the Blephasol one.

Liveliferun · 16/03/2022 13:22

I always go back to Lancome bifacil

Boood · 16/03/2022 14:31

L’Oreal micellar water is the only one I’ve found that doesn’t sting my eyes.

Grazka · 16/03/2022 14:34

Lancome bi facil.
Pricey but it is the only one for me

Rina66 · 18/03/2022 05:15

I loved the Boots pads too, used them for over 20 years and never woke up with puffy eyes- they were just so convenient and gentle.
I don't have particularly sensitive skin, but I really struggle with eye make up remover. I've tried loads since the demise of the Boots pads and so far only 2 don't make me wake up looking like I've been crying all night - Clarins Instant Eye Make Up Remover (blue bottle and smells divine or Nivea Double Effect Eye Make Up Remover which is harsher but cheaper!

Auldspinster · 18/03/2022 20:14

Nivea or Boots Botanics bi phase works for me and I wear a lot of waterproof eye make up.

DixiePeach · 18/03/2022 20:19

Asda radiance eye makeup remover costs £1 and is really gentle not stingy at all.

LookdeepintotheParka · 18/03/2022 22:33

I've always used Lancome bi-facil which is brilliant, completely non-sting but £££. However, I've recently discovered La Roche Posay eye makeup remover and it's even better and cheaper Smile

I've got sensitive skin and eyes - most eye makeup removers sting but not these two!
