Secondhand options in this style will be the way of paying for not much more than the metal weight and stone value (rather than pricing in the work of the jeweller too). But there's a significant difference between the metal weight in the liberty option and the example that pinkywoo posted. I made a similar ring to the Liberty one (if anything, smaller and lighter) in sterling and it came out at about 7.5g, in 9ct gold that's about £170 of casting grain before you begin to account for the stone and the cost and time of making it which is usually most of the cost in jewellery. Hence why the price doesn't look too bad to me. I definitely think you could pick up something in this style from eBay for not much more than the metal cost though.
