Saggy neck - help!

Is there anything I can do about this (bar cosmetic surgery - not interested!) or is it too late for me? Do I have to resign myself to a chicken neck for the rest of my days?!! (Please see photo attached.)

Please help!

I don’t think you can do much about the crinkly skin, but you can build up your jaw muscles by chewing gum and doing various whole body yoga stretches. I would start using spf 50, eating lots of vitamin c & calcium rich foods & drinking water to try and stop it getting worse.

Have you recently lost weight ?
What age are you ?

panictime · 07/02/2022 19:51

I’m 52. Not lost any weight recently sadly. My mum and gran both had very ‘loose’ necks but I’ve been in denial until recently. I do moisturise every day and try to remember to stretch my neck but it doesn’t seem to be enough.

If it's genetics , then highly unlikely any excercise / cream will help. Because you've taken the pic from underneath , only smaller children looking up will see you from that position.😀

Somebodylikeyew · 07/02/2022 20:45

Following as i fear mine is heading that way too. I’ve heard mixed things about profhilo?

harriethoyle · 07/02/2022 20:55

I was going to suggest profhilo too - I've heard and read good things about it. Currently contemplating it for a refresh...

Rio 60 Second Facial Toner used under your chin and along the jaw line. I won't get rid of it totally but if you use it regularly, together with a good neck cream it will make a difference. I have had one for years and you can definitely see the difference when I don't use it. You can pick one up on Ebay for about £60. To be honest though I'm saving for a neck/lower face lift as I'm fighting a losing battle with my turkey neck but I'm older than you Grin

I use the evenskyn lumo which is an at home device . I have only been using a short while but it seems to be helping , also collagen , retinol ( start super low dose - many people can’t tolerate on neck area at all So read up before trying this ) I’ve managed to introduce it over a period of couple of years . Stretches too

My Dr Dennis Gross LED mask is tightening my skin up a treat. Over lockdown I really started taking care of my skin and although I am sure everything (foreo bear, tretinoin, vitamin C) has all played a part in improving my skin. The LED mask has had the quickest, most dramatic effect.

I tried profile, threads Ect and mine was a lot worse than yours ( due to 6 stone weight loss in 30's ) having spent loads I got a quite for Morpheus8 and face/neck tite and it was 3.5k.

I had a look around and found a surgeon that did neck lifts all week long so I had a lot of evidence of his work. He also did either a ga or local ( and it was important that he did a local as I didn't want to go under ).

Attached are the photos of the morning and the afternoon when I'd had the surgery ( I was off home within half an hour of getting off the table ).

It's not for everyone I understand but I was so unhappy with my neck and jawline that I threw lots of money at it and nothing really worked. I was 50 last week and I was very unhappy that I'd been left with the neck that I had after weight loss.

Op I don't think yours is anywhere near as bad as mine was so you could try Morpheus8 perhaps? Good luck!

Wagsandclaws, do you mind saying who your surgeon was please because that is a great result.👌🏼

milkyaqua · 11/02/2022 02:10

Get the (cheap!) book by Eva Fraser. Also, look up "tech neck". I think a lot can be done with attention to posture and some small adjustments, even without getting into doing facial exercises, which will also help.

Wagsandclaws · 12/02/2022 14:41

@sausagedogpookie sorry I missed this, it's Amir at Bella Vou in Tunbridge Wells Smile

Everydaydayisaschoolday · 12/02/2022 16:45

I have ultherapy at the Dr Leah clinic in London. It hurts but it's keeping my saggy neck and necklace lines at bay.

sausagedogpookie · 12/02/2022 17:32

@Wagsandclaws thank youSmile

Hello1290 · 12/02/2022 21:10

Hi Panic - my neck is similar to yours! I've had Coolsculpt which to be fair did reduce my pouch a bit followed by Morpheus, however, I didn't feel the Morpheus 8 was very effective. My neck feels soft but the wrinkly flab is still there. I'm tempted to now try Profhilo but wonder if it will just be a waste of money.

RubyViolet · 12/02/2022 21:12

Following with interest. Was thinking of this myself. Any places in London to recommend anyone ?

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 12/02/2022 21:14

I'm 60 and have a turkey neck after losing loads of weight. I've saved and saved for two years and I'm going to have it sorted out with surgery next year.
Why not, I'm single and my DS has left home. No reason why I can't do something for myself.

Wagsandclaws · 12/02/2022 22:34

@Hello1290 just wanted to save you some money and say leave the profilo, i tried it ( along with everything else ) and it did nothing for my neck.

I think it's good for improving skin quality, my dr said it's like a semi permanent moisturiser so if you have no sag but perhaps just crepey skin maybe it might make a difference?

@Shehasadiamondinthesky do it! It's made such a difference to the way I feel about myself Smile

Hello1290 · 12/02/2022 23:21

Wags thanks for the advice. I think surgery is the only way to make a drastic difference. Can't believe how unconfident my saggy neck makes me feel..

Hello1290 · 13/02/2022 11:37

Wagsandclaws - also meant to add that your neck looks amazing.

Movingonup22 · 13/02/2022 11:39

@Wagsandclaws amazing!!! How much did it cost?? Any pain etc??

Wagsandclaws · 13/02/2022 11:48

@Hello1290 I can relate to that more than you know. It depends on the degree - as you Can see by my photos mine was quite severe and I think it can be helped a lot with other non surgical treatments but not profilo.

@Movingonup22 it was 10.5k but I'd already spent about 5 on threads and all sorts of other treatments for years before hand so I was glad to have it done.

It was done under a local and I spoke to my surgeon the whole way through. Because of this I was able to go home straight afterwards ( within 45
Mins ) yes it hurt and stung for a good week afterwards but it's surgery so I expected that.

If you can afford it ( I had to save up for some time ) it's one for the best things I've done for myself, it made me very unhappy and I was careful with who I found to do the surgery.

Movingonup22 · 13/02/2022 11:50

Thanks! Sorry if you said and I missed it - do you think worth trying lasers (eg clearlift) first??
