Skin help- advice on facials

I have never paid much attention to my skin and it feels like it's hit me really badly all of a sudden. I am nearly 36 and skin is generally not great. Am finally nearly finished breastfeeding after over 5 (yes, FIVE) consecutive years (I know that can take a toll). Kids having been bad sleepers means I've often not bothered taking off makeup etc before bed (have become much better about this in recent months!) not to mention the general effect sleep deprivation has on ageing.

Basically, I really need help.

I would love to have a few proper facials but am loath to go somewhere which will try and sell me £££ products on top of £££ treatments.

How do you find a good place? Does anyone have a recommendation for somewhere in London? I'm looking for proper skin treatment rather than something relaxing if that makes sense!

I don’t mean to be boring, but regular sleep, cleansing, moisturising, and drinking lots of water will do more for your skin than a one-off treatment. Have a regular evening once a week where you exfoliate and do a mask.

The facials I’ve had before have been £££ and one lady scraped out all my pores which I felt was harmful more than helpful.

Guinot facials are the bee's knees - the classic hydradermie facial gives lovely results on me and they last.

And yes, look after your skin at home.
