Outfit for London day trip?

Hi all,

I’m a plus sized girl (16 on bottoms and anything up to 24) on top and I’m starting to lose some weight. Ive also over the past 6 months been enjoying days out to London. Now I’m starting to lose weight I want to up my wardrobe and make myself look more stylish but comfy when I visit London.

I’m looking to go again in the next few weeks as well as nearer the warmer months. So my question is, what is your favourite/typical/ideal outfit for a London day trip and what shoes etc do you wear?

At the moment I’m thinking for the warmer months an oversized blazer, skinny jeans or skinny leg trousers and a nice top with brogues or loafers but I just need ideas as usually I wear my beat up old converse, jeans and a bloody rainmac with a hoody!

Please please throw your ideas at me, I need inspiration!!

Thank you so much xxx

Normal clothes with trainers. Nothing different to what I'd normally wear. It's only London!

I like this influencer, she has an understated, simple, cool, chic vibe - which to me a non-Londoner is very London. Hopefully the link works, but I particularly like this look brown trousers, with black turtle neck, and trainers. www.instagram.com/p/CZFSmgKMS9X/

When I visit London I do loads of walking, so my main priority with shoes is comfort - trainers, vans, or my trusted boots. I guess my advice here is to consider if your brogues or loafers will be comfortable for what you plan on doing. I personally prefer the look loafers to brogues.

I get that you want to wear something special but I don’t think there is a look that typifies London as the style here is so heterogenous. I agree that comfort is very important. You may carry a style off that suits you but would look crap on another person.

Thank you all!

I think the thing that has got me thinking this is because I go with a group of friends who all dress so stylish yet comfortable and just fit right in with the whole ‘vibe’ and I’m a bit bored of looking like a ‘slob’ or just throwing on leggings/jeans and a hoody because I’m big! I just want to put more put together I think is what im trying to go for if that makes sense!

I’ll definitely check out that influencer tho and see what ideas I can get from her!

Thank you so much all xx

What sort of thing do your friends where? Can you get ideas from their outfits?

ABE08xx · 03/02/2022 16:52

They are all very much high waisted wide leg trousers with tiny little crop tops and blazers etc. I’ve tried a few outfits on based around what they wear and I just look ridiculous because they are all slim and it just doesn’t suit my body :(

How about a dress and trainers, like the outfits in this article?

Then you'll look individual and not as if you're trying to look like them.
