Help me disguise my enlarged pores on nose and chin please!

Rec a good product and/or primer!

I have giant pores and use Egg Pore range. I use the Silky Smooth Balm as primer and it does the job. They also have a steam balm which really helps with the issue itself, my skin will never be perfect but the steam balm keeps the pores in best condition they’ve ever been.
It’s a Korean skincare range, there are a few other products in it, lookfantastic and asos and a few other online retailers stock it.

Watching with interest!
I use benefit porefessional primer which disguises them well, but I’m quite oily and I find it doesn’t last.

I like the elf poreless putty primer. I've also started using Skin + Me recently and flagged open pores as being an issue. It could just be placebo, but I definitely feel like the pores on my nose have reduced in size and are less visible since starting it.

Susurrar · 03/02/2022 10:11

@toastfiend how do you apply elf putty? I got it because of the raving reviews it gets on here, tried brush, sponge and good old fingers and I just can’t get it to set properly. It seems to be just smudging along with my foundation, even though I apply very little.

Primed and Ready, cheap, Superdrug, some supermarkets. Also Frezyderm Matt sunblock, clear or tinted, bit pricier but really good. Feels nice and works for hours.

@Susurrar literally just with my fingers. I don't use very much at all, rub it in quite well and leave it a few mins before applying my foundation over the top. I also make sure my moisturiser etc has all been absorbed before applying it and I haven't had smudging or smearing issues. Sorry if that's what you already do and isn't very helpful!

Thanks @toastfiend
I think it’s just my dodgy skin Hmm my nose is like moon surface, no amount of exfoliating helps. I’m saving up for a laser treatment but I’m also terrified something will go wrong and I will burn my whole face off Grin

@Susurrar I feel your pain, my nose was particularly bad and my chin had started to go the same way. Since posting on this thread I've realised that actually the Skin + Me treatment must be working at least a bit as the open pores on my chin are all but invisible now. I found exfoliating lots often seemed to exacerbate the problem for me as it just seemed to stimulate sebum (what a horrible word!) production, although I know it's often recommended for open pores.

Blahblahblahyadayadayada · 03/02/2022 16:45

I found that not using anything with Shea butter and ensuring I use a hydrating cream helps. For some reason, it exacerbated my tendency to rosacea and made the pores appear more obvious (possibly inflamed).

Use niacinimide after you wash your face. Then no.7 pore/airbrush primer is the best I’ve found. Push/press the foundation onto your skin with a brush rather than other application methods ie rubbing.
