Is Chanel skincare worth the money?

I’ve always loved Chanel foundation and am thinking of giving their skincare a try. I’m especially interested in serums and creams for day and night. Also maybe something for eyes- I don’t use a separate product at present.

Would welcome any recommendations. Is it worth the money? (Obviously a very subjective question.)

Like you say it's very subjective. You're paying a lot for the name imo.

I've used Chanel skincare in the past, I had a great run with it when I used for the first time and then once I did a repeat buy it did nothing for me. I struggled to use the products up. Can't remember now exactly what I bought, a face wash and one of the serums. I did struggling with how heavily scented the products were, I don't think my skin did well with the fragrance.

I am very loyal to their foundation and eyebrow pencil though!

Is it worth the money in terms of the active ingredients- no. You can buy same ingredients in brands like The Ordinary or Inkey List.

So your skin is a barrier made up of many layers. No actives can change your molecular makeup or change your appearance to make you look younger. Check packaging for glycerine and water. These are the ingredients that will hydrate. I use nivea sensitive/rich in a small pink squeezy tube. Does the job and is lovely and easy to use. Chanel are selling a dream, nice heavy packaging and the prestige of the name. Don't be sucker.

If you want to do Chanel - do a lipstick!
The skincare is just perfume & a label.

If the skincare has active ingredients in it, and the percentages are high enough, then it may make a difference.
But no more so than a decent vit C serum (= 15% or more L-Ascorbic Acid is what to look for- many vit C's contain a low % and inferior vit C to L-Ascorbic) and a decent retinol will do.

I like posh skincare. One of my favourite moisturizers is Lancome Hydra Zen. Does it do anything more (in moisturizer terms) than the £4 Nivea Q10? Nope.

Actives will make your skin look better, more glowy and youthful. They don't have to be expensive. Look for peptides/ceramides in a moisturizer and a vit C and a retinol.

The eye make up remover is rubbish - doesn’t shift non waterproof mascara at all. On the bright side the bottles are pretty Grin
