How can I create a sense of spa at home?

Any particular products, scented things you have at home that always remind you of a spa?

Diffuser essential oil thing, with jasmine oil.

Pan pipe music 😂

TheVanguardSix · 29/01/2022 15:34

Apart from the pan pipe music recommendation Grin...

A tisserand diffuser (excellent, affordable, beautiful range of diffuser oils to choose from that don't cost a bomb and yet, are better quality than the majority of oils out there). It's light changing which adds a really nice ambiance. I actually use mine in the main part of my house.

Ok, this DOES cost the bomb but it is so worth it. Aromatherapy Associates forest therapy bath oil. A little goes a long way. It's hard to justify its price tag, but it IS amazing and is incredibly therapeutic AND it leaves my bathroom smelling amazing.

The White Company has a candle from its bath range called Nourish which makes my bathroom smell like it looks like the interior of a White Company store (the reality couldn't be more different! My bathroom is more like a fungus warehouse with all the trimmings! But as soon as I light that candle and add that bath oil, I am living the Grand Designs dream).

Lemongrass essential oil in a diffuser.

Notevenabit · 29/01/2022 15:39

Diptyque diffuser. Elemis cleansing balm. Bamford Reed diffuser

Just in terms of “creating a sense of spa” rather than products, could you massively overpay a skinny twenty something to pop round, truculently poke at your cuticles or say “hmmmm, I would recommend drinking more water” whilst handling your cellulite in a derisory manner?

OldTinHat · 29/01/2022 15:44

An oil diffuser. Doesn't have to be expensive. Insence burners. LED strip lights which you can remote control - blues or purple hues.

WheelieBinPrincess · 29/01/2022 15:47

Re-purpose a wallpaper table.

Do they also say “hmmm, you’ve got a lot of product build-up” in an indistinguishable south London / Essex / Home Counties accent?
AnneLovesGilbert · 29/01/2022 15:49

Anything lavender for me. Candles, low lighting, soft fluffy things.

itsnotswimming · 29/01/2022 15:50

The White Company 'Spa' essential oil in a diffuser. You'll get a real spa smell, it's gorgeous!

Sunshinedreaming2022 · 29/01/2022 16:47

Soft lighting, white fluffy towels rolled up, a faux orchid in the corner, a scented candle - I love the white company Seychelles scent personally, cheap glass jar filled with bath salts

Ask a really fit, toned stranger (preferably one who has had a boob job too) to come round and stride up and down in their G-string bikini.

Sunnysideup999 · 29/01/2022 17:24

Milton brown eucalyptus shower gel makes my bathroom smell like a beautiful spa

LittleKitten1 · 29/01/2022 17:27

Cucumber water

TakeMe2Insanity · 29/01/2022 17:47

Make sure your kids are not at home!

All great ideas above. Essential oils/scented candles in an array of scents are a good idea so you have a variety to choose from depending on your mood eg my go to blends are: need uplifting (eucalyptus, lemongrass, black pepper) or relaxing (lavender, vetiver, frankincense) or stuck in hormonal hell (geranium, frankincense, mandarin).

I would also say that creating a little bit of "spa" in your everyday life is really the key to getting all the benefits, such as:

Have a gorgeously scented candle on your bedside table and light it for 10 minutes before bed, when you're getting ready for your day or for a night out etc.

Have hand cream, foot cream and night cream on your bedside table (or close by). Liberally apply all 3 before sleep, taking the time to slowly massage them into the skin. It feels really indulgent & will quickly become the norm, meaning you'll miss it when you forget it! It is a great way to help wind down before bed.

I have a small tray in my bathroom which holds a set of white face flannels, my skin care regimen (cleansers, toner, serum, moisturiser), rose quartz face roller, tweezers), hair ties, face masks & under-eye gel patches. I'm finding that I am using my products more regularly now because they're all ready to go and looking luxe rather than being in a cupboard.

Another vote for Aromatherapy Associates forest therapy bath oil. Just bought myself this and it’s gorgeous. The be calm candle from them too.

It's lovely

It's worth signing up if you haven't to their website as they have lots of offers - I have just bought the new rose oil for my diffuser
