I'm now in my 30"s and I'm wondering if I should 'something' about my skin ? If I should, what would you recommend?

Thanks

I'm not sure what we're supposed to be looking at...

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 28/01/2022 00:28

What do you think is 'bad?'

RatherNotThanks · 28/01/2022 00:29

Sorry, my forehead.

@RatherNotThanks

Sorry, my forehead.
I don't think there is anything wrong with your skin or your forehead.
ClunderThoud · 28/01/2022 00:35

Collagen liquid supplements.

ClunderThoud · 28/01/2022 00:35

Retinol.

MeridasMum · 28/01/2022 00:37

I don't think you NEED this, but some might consider Botox for your line in between your brows.

RiverSkater · 28/01/2022 00:40

Drink more water, 7 skins method, layer moisturiser and an oil, you don't need Botox but try frownies !

Retinol long term and SPF 50 every day.

UrsulaBursula · 28/01/2022 01:14

Hyaluronic acid and an SPF 30 daily

Justilou1 · 28/01/2022 01:45

While your skin isn’t too bad, I’m going to suggest you skip retinol entirely and get a prescription for Tretinoin and just stay on it indefinitely. I suggest that everyone does that. It will refine the texture and increase collagen over time. It also decreases sebum production. (Will sort out the bumpies!) You absolutely must use high SPF every day, and the good news is that there are fabulous ones that are lovely to use now. (Esp. Japanese & Korean ones - see James Welsh on YouTube for ideas.)

I live in Aus and will be 50 this year. I have used (Tretinoin apart from pregnancies) since my mid-20’s. I took great pride in seeing that my skin was in much better condition than almost everyone’s - plumper, less sun damage and of course, mobile, as I haven’t jabbed it yet. I am now getting lines beginning around my eyes, so not not averse, but not ready.

Thanks you all for the advice - for those who recommend hyaluronic acid is there a particular brand which is good ?

My skin is like yours, I'm mid thirties, this is how your skin should look, it's lovely.

I use Decleor Antidote Serum which has hyaluronic acid in, I find it makes a noticeable difference to my skin. I use decleor cleanser, exfoliator and moisturser too, plus RoC toner.

I have just signed up for Dermatica, they've prescribed tretinoin and niacinamide, which should take care of the fine wrinkles (mine are very similar to yours) and wear a spf50, I've just bought the la oche posay one.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 28/01/2022 10:02

Your skin overall is great. I assume you are concerned about fine lines and some dryness/congestion/pores appearance?

I'd recommend retinol / tretinoin at night (can't use when pregnant btw incase that's a consideration). Always strong sunscreen in the morning. Chemical exfoliant once a week.

I use (combo skin, prone to spots but dry on cheeks):
Morning:
Wash face (cerave foaming cleanser)
Inkey list vitamin C
Cetaphil factor 50 moisturiser

Night:
Wash face (cerave salicylic acid cleanser) - has a bit of an exfoliant in it
Retinol
Cetaphil night moisturiser

Once a week I use The Ordinary micropeeling stuff and once a week a loreal clay mask.

It looks like a 30 year old forehead to me.

IvorCutler · 28/01/2022 16:03

I agree with @psuedocream3 about this being how skin is supposed to look. I’m in my 30s and mine is similar.
