Side fringe with long balayage hair?

I have a haircut booked for Tuesday and not sure what to ask for!

I thought about getting a side fringe to cover a port stain birth mark I have on the left side of my forehead (it's not an issue for me but nice to have the option to hide it if I want).

However, bangs are a pain and not sure they will blend into my existing haircut (long layers with balayage).

I am also worried side fringes are very "noughties" and would scream "mumsy".

Any advice?

Curtain bangs? They are pretty, very current, and blend into lengths of hair (will also grow out quickly given longer length if you end up not loving it). They are popular with a centre parting, but could be done on a side part too.

"side fringe" does make me think noughties, I was a teenager when they were all the rage, I had a side fringe myself and it looked horrible on me, but the above will feel more modern.

@SummaLuvin thank you! I like the idea of curtain bangs.

I don't like the very thick curtain bangs that almost completely cover your eyes, but a softer style might work!

Oh god I have fairly long balayage hair and a side fringe, had no idea it was meant to be mumsy Blush

Good grief, there is absolutely nothing “mumsy” about a side fringe; it all depends on what styles suit your face.
