Fragrance free sanitary pads

Looking for fragrance free pads (I gather Unscented or Unlerfumed can still contain fragrance).
Some but not all Always ones according to their website have no fragrance but I’m suspicious as the “odour neutraliser” is likely to be fragrance? I have period underwear but I don’t use them for the whole of my period. Some of the more “natural” pads tend to fall apart while in use, though, so I still need something with wings and fairly robust.

Thanks.

I use Superdrug's own. Only tried them when I couldn't get Bodyform one time. Was really impressed with the quality, and they stick really well, so I wouldn't use anything else now. Unless they start making theirs scented, which I can't see happening.

Body Form, not Always.

Reusable sanitary pads, I have had so much less itching and thrush since I stopped using disposable sanpro. No need to change underwear, and they are so absorbent you don't need to change as often. Lovely and soft too.

They normally come with a waterproof bag that you can put used ones in when you are out.

I rinse in cold water until the water runs clear then wring out and chuck in the wash.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 24/01/2022 17:54

Do proctor and gambol own febreeze? Because I think they chuck it in the always pads. Smells exactly the same, and I don't need my fanny to smell of carpet cleaner, thank you.

I like liletts pads. They don't sell them everywhere but my favourite by far. If you can't find the adult ones (yellow pack) then the teens night ones (dark blue) work fine too. I bought a load off Amazon.

sammylady37 · 24/01/2022 18:41

The Tesco own brand (free spirit) are fragrance free, I find they’re great.

Blossom64265 · 24/01/2022 18:49

I have a diagnosed fragrance allergy. The kind that requires complete avoidance, regular shots, and epi-pens. I have yet to find a product that doesn’t cause me to react. Everything that claims to be unscented has proven to not be fragrance free. As a woman with very heavy periods, it is especially frustrating.

Essexgirlupnorth · 24/01/2022 18:56

The always sensitive aren't scented, body form and have been impressed by the superdrug luna pads.
I mainly use washable pads and period knickers but know they aren't for everyone.

WaterBottle2 · 24/01/2022 18:58

I find any sanitary towels except Bodyform give me thrush, I do try to use reusable now though as they are so comfy and they never ever give me thrush so could be worth giving them a go?

marplemead · 24/01/2022 19:00

Another vote for Always Infinity. They are very comfortable too and great even for heavy periods. I can only seem to find them in Boots and stock up when they are on offer.

Schlerp · 24/01/2022 19:16

Go reusable.
The fragrance (or odour neutraliser) would make me itch like mad and the few I found that didn’t have fragrance still chaffed and blistered the tops of my thighs.

I’ve had no problems with reusable pads, especially minky ones. Highly recommend the change - there’s also no running out last minute.

Twatforaneighbour · 24/01/2022 19:19

Ive been using the Always organic cotton ones but had a quick google to see if they were fragrance free and found that Always and a lot of other brands have been tested and proven to release toxic chemicals. May explain itching with some brands.

The natracare ones seem to be recommended, just going down the google rabbit hole of non toxic sanitary pads!

APurpleSquirrel · 24/01/2022 19:22

I use mostly reusable pads from Honor Your Flow & period pants (Luna & Modibodi) but also use Bodyform pads - they're unscented.

Hummingbirdcake · 24/01/2022 19:23

Another Natracare fan here.

SweetPetrichor · 24/01/2022 19:32

I use Flo. They’re good and don’t irritate my skin.

DeckTheHallsWithGin · 24/01/2022 19:37

Reusable ideally (pads or cup) or body form are the least smelly and plasticky widely available brand. Always are awful.

NoEffingWay · 24/01/2022 19:53

Currently battling thrush after using bodyform so watching with interest.

actiongirl1978 · 24/01/2022 19:57

Body form are unscented, I buy them for DD and me.

We've tried period pants, not impressed and I didn't feel clean at all.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 24/01/2022 20:59

Wow, @Blossom64265 - that reads like the sort of thing you'd find out in a particularly unpleasant way.

Hope you are ok, I imagine fragrance is quite hard to avoid in offices, shops, hotels and trains. At least fanny pads are easier.

Beigeisthenewblack · 24/01/2022 22:58

Another Natracare fan. I agree they are well made and reliable too. Lillets teen day pads in the turquoise pack are non itchy too, but slim so only useful at the end of my period.
