I need some really moisturising handwash & lotion

The skin on my hands are so dry they are becoming painful. I regularly use hand cream (currently neutrogena) but Every time I wash them again they just go mega dry. Using hand sanitizer isn’t helping either. I need something really moisturising and it smelling nice would be a bonus! Recommendations please 🙏🏻

I’ve been using Nursem for a little while now and I think the night cream particularly (as I’m not always good at remembering to use the day cream after I’ve washed my hands) has helped get my hands back to a much more normal state. They make a hand sanitizer too so that might be good for you.

They were on Dragons Den a little while ago and I like the fact that they donate products to healthcare workers with every purchase.

Thanks, I’ve not heard of nursem before. It looks like it’s stocked in boots, so that’s good.

O'Keefes Working Hands is brilliant.

WhoppingBigBackside · 22/01/2022 14:23

@Cstring, are you using handwash? If you are switch to bar soap or a liquid soap that isn't SLS-based

Luredbyapomegranate · 22/01/2022 14:25

O’keefes is the business - and leaves a handy protective film during the day
l’occataine 25% is equally the business, if you want posh (overnight with cotton gloves for emergency repair)

Dove hand sanitiser is less Brutal than the usual stuff

Luredbyapomegranate · 22/01/2022 14:25

.. 25% Shea butter that is.

Yes I am using liquid soap. I didn’t realise you could get SLS free soap too - thanks!

L’occitane looks good but maybe a bit out of my budget. I’ll take a look in boots for okeefes & nursem Smile

You can order Nursem online too: www.nursem.co.uk

Gloves in a Bottle is good on top of moisturiser, it's a barrier lotion that you put on every 3-4 hours (I think). You can get it from Superdrug.

I put it on my kids hands, they get so dry with all the extra hand washing at school.

WhoppingBigBackside · 23/01/2022 13:08

@Cstring, handwash dries out my hands something bad. I use either face wash or bar soap in the bathroom, and in the kitchen savon de marseilles in a pump bottle from TK Maxx, which is about £3 or £4. It's really nice and feels and smells a bit luxurious.

Wet your hands before applying the soap, rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a soft towel

Check the ingredients of the expensive ones

I find the big white tub of nivea great for my sensitive dry hands!

E45 emollient wash cream followed by O'Keeffe's hand cream. Game changer
