Me+Em?

I’ve been after a pair of wool (or wool blend) relaxed trousers for ages and have finally spotted these ones from Me+Em:

www.meandem.com/italian-speckle-relaxed-straight-leg-trouser-navy

It’s a brand I’ve heard of but haven’t bought from them before. Quite pricey but I’m happy to spend this for the right fit/style.

Is it a brand that’s worth the money? What’s the fit like? How are they for returns etc.

I’m hoping I can wear these casually with trainers/slouchy jumper but also dress them up with heeled boots and a blouse (or something. Am not at all stylish!).

Many thanks.

I'm not a regular buyer but I look often. I think they're extremely clever at spotting and interpreting trends, e.g. they were into athleisure very early and they also noticed that women in corporate jobs were seeking more fashionable but work appropriate clothing and had the money to pay.

I can't think of anywhere else on the high street that's quite like them, maybe Whistles of a few years ago when Jane Shepherdson was CEO.

The big criticism is that they use much more synthetic than you'd expect from the price tag. That said, I'm always surprised at how heavy some of their clothes are. I normally only notice that kind of weight in very high end / designer labels.

Yes, some of the clothes are very heavy! My son said an otherwise beautiful cotton jumper I ordered was like a weight vest and if I wore it around the house I'd be burning calories. It was just a bit too much.

I actually like some of their synthetic trousers, to my surprise, because they don't crease and are good for packing.

I had a good root around their sale just now and have ordered a couple of bits - a light blue shirt and a zip up black ribbed jumper - bit boring but look like nice quality.

I like a blend fabric because it usually means its machine washable, these are dry clean only though. I think they look really nice OP, but for me I wouldn't get dry clean only trousers.

QueenMabby did you look on The Outnet? I saw some Acne wide legged trousers 70% wool and 30% mohair wool for around £120 last week. They were a burgundy and a slightly different style. Yoox could be worth a look also.

[quote Mercurial123]If you are a size 12, these Joseph trousers are really nice

Alas I am not as they do look good.

Those are crazy long! The model is 5’11” and they’re dragging on the floor…

Returns are fine but in memory you do have to pay. They waived mine though. Ultimately I don't think it's worth the money. I spent about 80 vs 200 in the sale on some upmarket joggers. They got ruined in the wash after the third or fourth go in the machine.
