Facial lines - Botox? Fillers?

I have some lines around my chin and sides of mouth that I would like to soften as foundation sits really badly in it, no matter what brand I use. Is it Botox I need? Or because its lower on my face fillers? Fillers sounds quite serious - can you have a tiny bit?! I only want to soften the lines and not make it really obvious what I have done!

I think it's fillers to plump things up? I'm no expert though.

You can have a tiny bit of filler - a little goes a long way. You might need both. You need to talk to an expert

A consultation with an aesthetic doctor or prescribing nurse is only around £50 where I am. My local clinic then knocks that off the price of treatment. You could go and speak to someone. The Tweakments website has a list of recommended professionals.

Sorry I'm not sure on the answer to your question. My understanding is that Botox prevents movement which creates the lines and that filler can fill in some lines, but you're best speaking to a professional.

@hopeishere@flippertyop thanks, it's a medical clinic so I'm hopeful they will know what I'm needing but just wanted an idea before I wentBlush

I'd make a consultation first. Research your practitioner. I personally would only ever go to a medical professional in a clinic that does this full time. Not someone who does this on the side or a beautician.

Check the Save Face for reputable practitioners.

For lines, yes you need dermal filler. Botox is preventing wrinkles but for marionette lines (down side of mouth) or naso-labial (nose to mouth) lines you need filler.

It's whether the lines are there when you're not moving your face. Then you might need filler and botox. Botox numbs the muscle making the line and filler plumps it up.

Depends exactly where the lines are. I have marriages as my cheek volumes has slid south and fillers in my cheeks and the angle of my jaw lifts the skin enough to reduce these lines

It would be filler for what you describe. I see a plastic surgeon and he only gives me filler for the upper face. If you get it in lower face it looks puffy. Upper face filler acts like scaffolding for the lower face. Please do your research before you let anyone touch your face. I also get botox for my forehead and crows feet. I have many friends that haven't a clue I have anything done. They make me laugh sometimes when they discuss people with me that they think have work done.

This will explain what I am talking about:
