All over grey

I'm 35 and have had full on grey roots for at least 10 years.

My natural colours is a dull darkish blonde, have not been natural in well over 13 years. I used to go red but have tamed it down to a dark brown.

I've seen lots of articles lately about women owning their grey hair at the younger ages.

Being very typically white and freckly and a size 12-14 (most women I've seen do this are supermodel thin) I just think it will age me. I also don't have a lot of self confidence.

But the idea of not having to dye my hair is one I quite like.

Have you or would you embrace the grey?

Embrace it. I've had to, I developed an allergy after pregnancy to every single hair dye. I have bra strap length hair, with two huge cruella de ville stripes that are getting wider each week.

Saving a fortune, my hair is in great condition.

I'm 36 and all over grey. Keep it bright with plenty of purple shampoos and toner and it doesn't make me look older.

Hadn't even thought about the care needed! I have to say, I've not given my hair much tlc until after my second when I lost a lot and 3 years on it's only just starting to recover!

Given how many people are quite grey in their 30s, it would be great if we could get over this "ageing" narrative. I admit I'm as guilty as anyone.

Anyway I gave up dyeing in my 30s due to developing allergies and I was very grey. I always make sure I have a good cut.

I love this colour , if you worried about the ageing thing ( which you shouldn't really) just make sure the cut is good and funky ! 😊

I haven’t gone grey yet, but I’m planning on embracing it when I do.

My hair is very dark so I would have very obvious roots if I dyed it once I start going grey.
I think it’s easier for blonde/light brunette women because they can dye their hair lighter colours which blend in the greys better without such obvious roots.
Due to my ethnicity I wouldn’t suit being blonde, so I’m going to embrace the grey!

It depends how grey you are tbh. My hair is white at the front and sides but still dark brown underneath and at the back - an unattractive pepper-and-salt look. I tint the grey bits pale blonde and it just looks as I've got dark roots growing out. If I was all over grey then I'd leave it.

It is definitely ageing , there's no getting away from it. It's up to you to decide whether you care enough though.

I have massive respect for younger women who have the confidence to go grey. It's not for me personally but I do think it's great to not give a shit!

I'm 50 and have never dyed my hair (too lazy to maintain). I have long dark blonde hair and it started going white at the temples in my mid-20s, spreading to the front now but still darker at the back. Basically it's white blonde around my face, and long streaks down the front half inch. I've been asked how I got my hair to look so natural (erm...) and who does it (mother nature).

I would suggest giving going grey a good go as it's so, so easy to care for. It might take time to get used to it, and some people will hate it (because it reflect on their choices? IDK but I don't diss their choice so leave me to mine) so persevere for a while. If you hate it then go back to colouring it.
