The Nivea double effect one - removes waterproof and tubing mascara very very easily and its really cheap and often on offer. I have no idea what possessed me previously to buy more expensive removers that were not so good, total waste of money to do so.

I rate the following :

Bioderma micellar water £
Clinique take the day off balm ££
Votary rose and geranium cleansing oil £££

Used to be a fan of Simple but it just doesn't seem as good quality as it used to be. I find Nivea too oily. Is there a trick to it?

NorthernSoul55 · 13/01/2022 16:18

Another vote for the Nivea double effect. Saw it recommended by Sali Hughes in the Guardian a couple of years ago. I've just bought a new bottle from Morrisons, think it was about £3.

I use olive oil from the kitchen cupboard. Best thing I ever used on my eyes!

LovelyYellowLabrador · 13/01/2022 20:18

Kjr33 yes that’s why I liked the boots pads, they were very oily and it came off with ease

I’ve tired the Nivea before and it’s got good on me
Too watery I think

The Nivea oil mix one isn't good for sensitive skin ime, it really made my skin sore and flared up my eczema. I rate the Simple one (clear like water) or Bioderma Micellar water. But the key for me is to use a cream cleanser rubbed in all over my face, even lashes, wipe off with cotton wool, then remove the mascara that remains.

Saira skin cleansing oil is just amazing. It just melts away the mascara, it comes with a cloth too.

I have sensitive skin, and eyes, and I can't use the Simple one at all! I can't use anything too oily either, because I wear contact lenses and some are so oily it's hard to get rid of all the oil.

(Used the word oil too many times there ...)

schnubbins · 14/01/2022 12:23

I would also say either the Lancome Bi facial or Nivea

BusterGonad · 14/01/2022 12:26

I agree about the oily ones, they are terrible for contact lense wearers. I think the Bioderma Micellar water is probably the best, most Micellars are terrible for your skin but Bioderma is amazing. I've also used the Nuxe rose micellar water and that was very gentle too and smelt amazing.

Temple spa easy on the eye. I spray it on with a small spray bottle, use my fingers to move it over my eyes then use a warm cloth to remove it.
