Brows

Please please please can anyone recommend an eyebrow pen? Due to over plucking many years ago I barely have any brow hairs and the product I'm using currently just isn't cutting it. I go through phases of having really oily skin (like I do currently) and by lunchtime I have gaps in my brows where my pen has worn off. I hate it. Micro blading isn't an option unfortunately due to cost but there must be a product out there that offers a reliable, natural, maybe even semi permanent, solution?
I currently use a Maybelline product, I "invested" in a Benefit product last year but that was absolutely useless, a total waste of money, so I went back to Maybelline. But I'm in an oily phase again and I hate having to touch them up during the day. I feel quite conscious about them! Thanks for any tips or advice ❤️

I wouldn't rule out microblading, my local professional salon do offers on it for £160 occassionally.

I have similar issues and have tried alot of products but what works best for me is using a setting spray (MAC fix plus) over whatever product you use to draw them on and they don't budge, even if I forget to take my makeup off before bed I still wake up with them there.

Which benefit products did you buy?
Some are definitely better than others.

minipie · 12/01/2022 08:26

Have you tried Rapid Brow? I tried it after recommendations on here and to my surprise it worked. Took several weeks but then they definitely started growing thicker and darker.

WoodSageandSeasalt · 12/01/2022 08:43

I'm getting on well with Rapidbrow but I still need to pencil in my brows and have found Urban Decay Browblade to be the best one - and believe me I've tried a lot! It's good because it has a felt tip type end for tiny hairs and a pencil for a softer look, someone did actually ask if I'd had my brows micro bladed when I first got it.

SummaLuvin · 12/01/2022 09:02

Have you tried a brow tint and lamination? It can be a good way to make the most of what you have.

Fab Brows is the only thing I've ever found with any staying power.

I’ve got really oily skin and sparse eyebrows (used to have barely any but they’ve grown back a bit) and use Glossier Boy Brow then the L’Oréal skinny eyebrow pencil.

So this sounds like a low key semi permanent option? I use MAC foundation so I presume a setting product would compliment this too. Thanks

Hey, I bought the Benefit Brow Microfilling Pen and it was utterly rubbish.

Hi, no I haven't but I have so few brow hairs I'm not sure it would be suitable for me? I just Googled the product and it says it makes brows appear fuller but I don't think that would help my completely bald patches?

No I've only ever used a pen/pencil. I don't think making good is an option due to the bare patches. Definitely need something to replace the hairs that are no longer there x

I watch a youtuber - pampered wolf - and she swears by Nyx.
2 products: micro brow pencil and the snatch and lift pencil.
I don't have problems with my brows so can't comment but she rates these two drugstores ones over all high end makes.

minipie · 13/01/2022 00:01

I had the NYX micro brow pencil and now have the Revolution equivalent. They’re very similar and both very good IMO. Only downside is they don’t last that long (wish they sold refills).

Bocial · 13/01/2022 00:11

The benefit product you tried previously isn't a very good one. Have a look at the benefit goof proof pencil. It's less of a pencil and more a crayon/wax type of material. You can do full coverage in large areas and also create smaller lines with the tip. Lasts all day without smudging.

I'd second microblading as a more semi-permanent alternative. Most professional salons where live I offer it for around £150 and an annual top up is around £60. It looks so much more natural and no need to mess around in the morning drawing on eyebrows.

I love the IT Cosmetics Brow Power pencil. The brush on the end is helpful for making the most of what you have, the pencil has good staying power and it's super easy to apply. I've over plucked my brows in the past and have a scar running through one of them from an old injury but it covers all that up totally and I look like I have good brows when I'm wearing it, which is a miracle tbh.

I use this and it is amazing . Just apply every night.
