Boots for icy pavements

Can anyone recommend winter boots with really good grip? Extra points if they're fleece / warm lined! It's starting to get cold and I'm dreading the school run with a buggy and icy pavements! TIA

These are my new snow boots Karrimor They've been good on icy pavements this week, much better than trainers. Comfy and warm, pretty grippy in mud. Not tested them on black ice yet though.

Thank you @SleepWoof!

I got these for Austria at Christmas. A lot of stylish looking women were wearing similar. I got the matt black and they are lovely.

Second these The guys at work sniggered at me, then went flying as I trotted past them on the ice The next week I spotted several of them wearing them Grin

Love my Sorel boots, not lined but oh so warm, I have real trouble with cold feet and these with a wooly pair of socks are great. Most comfortable boots and waterproof, have down well on the icy pavements. My daughter has timberlands and loves those.
For dog walking, muddy and ice are my merrel walking boots - not as stylish but stops the Sorel from getting trashed and warm/ waterproof and get v muddy, and great for extra grip.

Yaktrax are amazing even on black ice - there's a steep side road up near me which is never cleared or gritted in bad weather and I can stride up it without worrying about slipping. I also have a larger size pair which I can pull over hiking boots for icy hil walks.

I totally agree with this. I am terrified of slipping but wearing these I can walk confidently on black ice.

Last night coming home in a taxi I didn't put them on as I thought I'd be OK just walking from the taxi to my flat. I was wrong. It was black ice and I was terrified. Will always use them on any type of ice from now on.

Another vote for Yaktrax here. You can wear them with any shoes.

I wear my walking boots from millets which are karimoor which I've had for years

JustLikea · 09/01/2022 11:09

Actually my hiking boots are Hi-tech and DH boots are Head and they've both been great on ski resorts

Pootles34 · 09/01/2022 11:12

Yup yaktrax - I have dyspraxia so prone to falling on my arse, but can happily do school run in these whilst everyone else is slipping and sliding!

Only issue is you can't wear them indoors, so not much use for shopping.

This kind of style works well
