Eye lid surgery

Hi lovely people. I am in my late 50s and have a massive problem with my upper eye lid .I look about 10 years older and will avoid any pics to be taken. I have really sagging eyelids. Any recommendations for surgery would be fantastic. I need honest comments!

@Northernlass99
It wasn't painful, but unsightly and embarrassing.
I believe it was from the lower lid surgery (although I was having a mid face lift and a brow lift too!)
I'm left with scarring under one eye but they did, on the third attempt, manage to 'prop' up the lower lid.

I know I gave the surgeon a fright and they were concerned I'd lost sight in one eye due to the haemorrhaging in the eye area which occurred (which procedure caused this I don't know).

I believe I was just unlucky, I don't blame the surgeon, I think it's just one of those things that are part of the risk you take.

The procedure went perfectly on the other eye and the results on that one are great, I'm left with just some faint scarring now one one eye which isn't too noticeable.

Thanks Katharina for sharing! You look great! Mine are much worse than yours! ☹️

I had my upper eyelids done about 10 years ago now. Still look amazing and don't need redoing.

Mine was on the NHS but the doctor who did it works for The Spire.

I only have the photo from immediately after getting done. It was quite gruesome - I found the needle anaesthetic very painful and you could smell the flesh being cut! I would have chickened out having the second eye done but of course you know you can't!!

Difference was immediate as you can see. My eyelids have always been hooded - wasn't an age thing. It definitely made me look younger.

@CoastalWave what a difference!

I've had it done. Cost £2500. I found it quite an unpleasant process. Local anaesthetic but could still feel it and it wasn't nice. Extensive bruising but totally worth it. Having the stitches out was the most painful part. I turned the air blue!! Will try and find pics.
In the meanwhile, eyelid tape defo works and is cheap and easy to apply.

Before, straight after and about 10 days after.

I found my surgery super easy, I was very nervous, but they gave me also some sedative so I was totally relaxed and didn't feel a thing. And didn't feel getting stitches out either, even though when I read the experiences before, a lot of people said it was painful. Had stocked up on painkillers, but didn't need any during recovery - the eyes were swollen but not painful.

@havemybreakfastthen How scary regarding your sight. Glad it is all sorted now.

@CoastalWave Amazing result, really lifted. Did you get it on the NHS because it was affecting your vision?

@Imabouttoexplode Your before eyes look very similar to mine. More saggy on one side, with the eyelid touching the lashes. The bruising looks more extensive than I had envisaged. I think I am going to get some eyelid tape just to see what I would look like after having this done!

You can see my post surgery photos on the link that I posted earlier, that was as bad as it went, I didn't have bruising.
