oooooooh ! it looks great ! never heard of it though

MrsDanvers · 22/12/2007 21:01

Read somewhere not long ago that it's a new line of make up that is very good and popular in USA. The reason why it's so cheap is that they are very small sizes- great for travelling, trying out, etc. Let us know if you like them!

ggirlsbells · 23/12/2007 16:45

great site,have ordered some stuff,

their makeup brushes are so cheap!

JackieNoel · 23/12/2007 16:54

Yes - looks as if they're tiny sizes - the review in Grazia that they print on the site says the tinted moisturiser would be 'enough for about a week', so really small. Interesting idea though - good, as MrsDanvers says, for holidays etc, or for trying out colours you're not sure you'll use very much.

DaisyMoo · 23/12/2007 16:59

I'll probably try some and if I like it will get my mum to get some more in the US when she's over there (only $1 an item ) Interestingly on the website it claims that they are normal sizes, so a bit dodgy if they're not I thought you had to state the actual sizes on products too...

just had a parcel of goodies from ELF and I only placed the order at around 6pm last night!!!

It all looks gorgeous so I'll give it a try after I've had a shower and woken up a bit and report back

FatBellyJones · 05/01/2008 10:38

oh and just to add.. they seem like normal sizes to me

Ready · 05/01/2008 12:25

Eager to hear how you got on with the products FBJ

FatBellyJones · 06/01/2008 14:12

right.. ELF are fab!!!!!

Eyeshadow doesn't crease and has a lot of pigment so a little goes a long way and it lasts all flippin day too

Pencil has a built in sharpener in the lid which is very nice and handy

the plumping lip gloss does what it says on the tin.. tingles beautifully with a hint of colour and gloss so not too over powering

eye/cheek/lip stick.. probably best used as a highlighter cos its very shiny but I liked it.. never used that type of product before tho

the face powder gives an even, smooth coverage that mattifies without looking powdery iyswim?

and the brushes... O M G they are lush!!! I opted for the big set with 9 brushes in a lovely case and they're really really nice.

Overall I would say ELF are a big success.. excellent quality for next to no money..

Ready · 06/01/2008 14:34

Excellent

FatBellyJones · 06/01/2008 14:42

ooh if you buy a face powder, beware cos I bought shade 2 (forgot the name and can't be arsed to look) and it's almost dark enough to use as a bronzer, so although the texture (as mentioned above) is fab, the colour was completely wrong for me

Ready · 06/01/2008 15:13

Glad you said, I am very pale, so would be hilarious

Ledodgy · 06/01/2008 21:06

Yipee so glad to hear this my stuff is coming tommorrow.

woodenchair · 06/01/2008 21:23

I'm just about to place an order, (couldn't help myself) and was wondering about the colours of the eyeshadows.

I was going to buy som e of the custom eye shadows and have just seen a little star next to some of the colours, do you know if they are very sparkly if at all?

FatBellyJones · 06/01/2008 22:54

woodenchair the ones I got are not very sparkly but the colour is deep, if that makes sense? I got the sage, 2 different brown ones that were near the top of the list and the ivory

oh and I placed my order at 6.45 on friday night and it all arrived on saturday morning

I think I love elf

woodenchair · 07/01/2008 15:18

Thanks, I placed an order last night and got the email about it being despatched today, can't wait.
Some of my makeup is sooo old and I'm going to use this as excuse to chuck it out.

Ledodgy · 08/01/2008 16:18

I'm very pleased with my stuff too. The brushes are lovely quality and the make up is fab the eye liner and lip liners go on nicely and as they each come with a free sharpener i'll never run out of those! The slanted tweezers are brill, just as good as my old £11 Rubie and Millie ones. I'm also loving the lip gloss and the concealer goes on nicely too especially with the concealer brush. I didn't get any eyeshadow this time as I already had some on order from the Boots sale which incidently should have arrived today but hasn't.

I'll deffo use ELF again and noticed the US site does bath stuff etc too so this will probably come to the UK soon.

Twinkie1 · 08/01/2008 16:29

Oh my god I have something to look forward to tomorrow as have just spent £35 quid - does tha mean it will come tomorrow if I don't pay for overnight delivery though?

The brushes do look great and very reasonably priced I have to say - will have to hide it from DH though!

Polgara2 · 08/01/2008 16:31

Mine came today but haven't tried it yet - how exciting - all looks really nice though!

Ready · 08/01/2008 16:38

Are the products or ingredients tested on animals?

Ledodgy · 08/01/2008 17:02

No they're not.

Ready · 09/01/2008 17:32

On the site, in the FAQ section they state that they cannot guarantee the ingredients are 100% cruelty free

Carmenere · 09/01/2008 17:43

Mine arrived yesterday and are great, the lip-liner is almost exactly the same shade as my lips except slightly darker and so can be used with all lipsticks and the lipstick is gorgeous and the eye make up is fab and the travel brushes are a bit cheapo but what can you expect. It is all a little bit cheap looking but it seems to be reasonable quality so in all I would say it is very good value for money
