What product for nose?

I have been using trentinoin for 8 months and haven't yet noticed an improvement. I want to add something else to my routine. I have extra large pores on my nose so would like something to address those if possible.

My skin is sensitive and starting to look papery around the eyes. So anything that I need different for general aging would be good.

I use Cerava face wash morning and evening. Cerava moisturiser in the morning and spf 50. Trent in the evening. I think 0.025 as it was too sore when I went to up in strength.

I don't suffer from spots or greasy skin.

Maybe try niacinimide? Or vit c? The ordinary or the inky list or boots ingredients are cheap ranges where you can try some serums and see what works. But pores won’t shrink tbh they have no muscle or anything.

My skin is pretty good generally but I have a bit of an oily t zone and the appearance of the pores on my nose and cheeks have been annoying me. I started layering niacinamide with salicylic acid from the Inkey List. It's only been a couple of months but I do think there are patches where the pores appear less noticeable than they were.

I'd expected that tretinoin might be the next step but perhaps not from the sound of it.

Tbh .025 tretinoin doesn't really do much for pore size that really starts at .05, generally.

But there's other factors too, when you say extra large pores are they stretched out and filled or empty and open? I ask because the latter would suggest rosacea and you've already mentioned you're not oily and sensitive which is also common with rosacea. The former BHA would be good at tackling, the Paula's choice 2% BHA perfecting liquid being a really good one and you could also try fiddy shades of snail pore technique with it.

Empty and open, and I do have mild rosacea. Thanks for the info.

Does 0.025 do much for aging as I haven't noticed much with that either. It also has niacinamide and azelaic acid in the Trent mix from Dermatcia.

Yes, for ageing .025 is fine, it's consistent use rather than strength that delivers results, and for signs of ageing to go it takes a while to notice it. With rosacea it's difficult to get rid of those open pores as it's just a characteristic of that. Minimising inflammation is probably your best bet (so going up in strength with tretinoin is likely not going to solve it), BHA can help with inflammation so you could still give that a try, Paula's Choice sell a travel size, you just need to use it on your nose so it'll last a good long while.

There's also Soolantra for rosacea, it works really well but you'd need to get if from your GP or a dermatologist (an in office one, AFAIK Dermatica don't prescribe that).
