My skin has got so old and tired looking after neglecting it a few years ago when my Mum was very poorly then sadly passed away. I just washed my face and went to bed I was so tired. I think the stress of it all ages my too.
I'm 46, but feel my skin belongs to someone much older, I've totally lost my confidence when talking to people. My skin is just so uneven and no matter what make up I use, nothing makes it better.
The picture is of my with foundation and primer on 😰

Someone mentioned Liquid Gold, which I think is a real powerhouse - I'd second trying that.

Other than that, I heartily recommend Korean skincare brands, which in a lot of ways are more advanced that what were used to in Europe. Cosrx is great, and easy to get hold of. At the moment I'm using their Snail Mucin Essence, which I really rate (very soothing and plumping) and their Honey Propolis Light Cream. I'm not as keen on the AHA Whitehead Power Solution - I prefer Liquid Gold.

I've also just started using a really soft facial brush from The Body Shop with my cleanser, and I think it's really helping boost circulation - might be worth a try?

@Theothersideofforty HRT is definitely good thing for so many reasons - skin just being one. People don't realise but oestrogen receptors are in every cell and low oestrogen causes so many issues across the board.

For the dermatica prescription- of it contains any retinol or retinoid ( tretinoin is a retinol) then you apply at night And you build up super gradually. Retinol makes your skin sensitive to sunlight so a good SPF all year round is absolutely essential.

Acid toners can be used alongside. Look for either AHA ( alpha hydroxy acids) like pixi glow or Alpha H and use these only 2-3 times per week in the morning - never at the same time as the retinol products.

If acne is a problem then BHA products ( a different type of acid toner) are good. Paula's choice do a good one

TCA peel. Long down time but good results. No point faffing with serums when you can peel everything off and start over.

I always promised myself a phenol peel if things got bad which is really strong.

How is everyone getting on, with their Dermatica treatments?

My skin is so much brighter.

I had such awful open pores on my nose too, even my beautician gave me extra advice on cleaning (didn't work) - these have reduced to nearly none. So pleased.

A course of radio frequency microneedling or fraxel laser would help resurface the texture of your skin.
.A friend of mine had 3 Morpheus 8 treatments - her chin was quite textured like yours appears to be in the pic - and it has totally fixed that and massively improved the overall condition of her skin. It looks amazing now and she has had the added benefit of tightening up her jawline and slight eye hooding. She paid about £1400 but prices vary depending on location ( we are up north).
A course of Obagi Nuderm under the guidance of a proper medical aesthetic clinic might be worth looking into. Judy Murray had a combination of those two treatments to turn her skin around.

My skin is definitely better - I haven't had any breakouts since I started using dermatica

It seems quite even but it's only been a few days so I haven't seen a huge transformation yet

I had similar skin on my chin. The rest of my skin was Ok.
I went to the Dr for something else (undereye filler). She recommended chin botox as well.I thought it was a strange suggestion. She said I dimple my chin and probably didnt realise it.
I had noticed a few "dimples" in my chin recently but thought they were maybe old acne scars.
She suggested some face exercises to relax my chin would also work over time.
Anyway, knowing I'd be lazy and not do them I just got the botox. It worked within a week.
You can see if its causing this by drinking a bottle of water in front of the mirror and seeing what movement your chin does. Mine went all dimpled. Was weird as I didnt even realise I had this issue or that botox could fix it. It was pretty cheap as well as she hardly put any there.
