Has anyone tried the Revolution version of Olaplex? Or similar?

I need to restore some condition to my bleached hair, ideally without remortgaging for Olaplex.

Has anyone tried the Revolution range? Or have any other alternatives?

I used Pureplex (purchased from Superdrug) and it was pretty good, as in it noticeably improved the condition of my hair. However I’ve gone back to Olaplex Hmm so that must say something…

ChocAuVin · 01/01/2022 22:54

Haven’t tried the Revolution but may take a punt! Watching for other replies…

I've not used olaplex (yet?) as I can't justify the cost, but I've tried pureplex and it did make a difference

I bought dd some Olaplex for Christmas. She hasn't tried any of the other brands mentioned but she's 2 washes in and her hair is absolutely beautiful. I bought it at 20% off but it's definitely worth the money for a treat.

Wavypurple · 01/01/2022 23:17

Olaplex sold a gift set at Christmas with the shampoo, conditioner, oil and no3 treatment. I think it was £60 which is an incredible deal if you have the money to spend on it. There may still be some available.
I used the Superdrug dupe for olaplex and can’t say it made much of a difference.
To spend so much on shampoo is absolutely crazy so watching with interest.

Omicrone · 01/01/2022 23:19

Yeah the Superdrug dupe wasn't as good as the real thing (I only use Olaplex 3) and was also quite a faff to do if I remember.

KillingMeDeftly · 01/01/2022 23:25

I haven't tried that one (or Olaplex, for that matter) but Pureplex from Superdrug is ok.

LSLLM · 01/01/2022 23:31

None of the dupes have the primary active ingredient Olaplex has - so you’ll never get the result Olaplex would.

Olaplex doesn’t give that immediate result either - it works from the inside. Anything that does feel great from day one is likely to have a silicone of something hidden away.

On the other hand I don’t think Olaplex is all that either, but is certainly way cheaper if you know someone who works in the hair industry. I’ve said it on another post - but anything other that Olaplex 1,2,3 won’t benefit you that much if you haven’t had the salon treatments - they are heavily diluted products aimed at the larger market.

I am personally enjoying using Kerastase but that is more expensive tbh.

I've used both the olaplex #3 and the revolution one, on my bleached hair. Can't say either made much of a difference to my hair, neither seemed to make any improvement on my hair :/

PaulRuddsWife · 01/01/2022 23:38

Yes, I've used both the Olaplex and Revolution and much, much preferred the Revolution system.

RobertaFirmino · 02/01/2022 01:49

I use the Pureplex range. It's great, really does work a treat! I've never tried Olaplex but I can't see it working any better than Pureplex.

Bumble and Bumble bond building range is very good and less costly than Olaplex.

SandingWithMyUnshavenLegs · 02/01/2022 01:58

Having said that, I just splurged on a load of Olaplex. I’m trying to switch from comfort eating to comfort pampering for New Year Grin

I love the revolution one, and it has made a big difference to my split ends and overall condition of my bleached hair.
