Best way to brush out tonged curls?

As the title asks.

I seem to find lately, that when I brush my curls out they look rubbish.

I tend to use a regular brush or a tangle teezer.

But maybe I should be using a particular comb? A wide toothed comb?

Any ideas?

Why are you wanting to brush them out?

I tend to use my fingers if I want to keep some semblance of curl there. Using a brush just turns them into waves instead.

The only time I ever brush my hair is when it's wet and there's conditioner in. When it's dry I don't really brush at all. If I ever need to sort a curl out, I'd probably wet it and brush it and then try to arrange the curl with a little gel or something. But that's rare really.

Never use a brush. Use your fingers and be gentle

Curl your hair, spray with hairspray, leave to co, comb out with a wide tooth comb, light spray of hairspray again

Stepping outdoors seems to make my curls drop in about 5 minutes this time of year because it's so humid.

But generally I would also second that using your fingers is best, brushing makes my hair look frizzy.

Because i'm looking for that brushed out smooth wave/curl I guess, rather than ringlets, should have made that more clear.

There is a GHD dressing oval brush specifically for this purpose. I got it in my Christmas stocking but haven't tried it yet.

Sounds like you need a very wide-toothed comb like this… www.amazon.co.uk/Jack-Dean-Pompadour-Streaker-Comb/dp/B01DUNJE3C/ref=pd_lpo_1?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B01DUNJE3C&tag=mumsnetforu03-21
