Hi, I'm 50 and generally happy with how I look..
However had Xmas nails done and took pictures for DDs, I genuinely have evil witch hands, and I'm not even that evil!
Any suggestions to de crone my hands? Open to cream/treatment/witchcraft ha

You can have filler injected into hands.

LadyJJ · 24/12/2021 18:44

@Fluffycloudland77 Ty have you had this or know anyone who has?

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 24/12/2021 18:58

I saw it on tv, it’s not new it’s been around a while. I wouldn’t be surprised if you can have Botox in them too.

MsEmmeline · 24/12/2021 19:04

Just make sure they're moisturised 😄, I'm sure they're not crone hands.

No way would I be having anything injected into my hands 😱.

I find that the hand pose that propel do for nail photos is a bit terrifying / crone-inducing in itself - maybe it was that?

MsEmmeline · 24/12/2021 19:05

^people, but propel

LadyJJ · 24/12/2021 19:39

@MsEmmeline maybe ha pictures were a bit wtf are those!

😄

I get quite dry hands, but they always look a lot better when they're moisturised. I like Aveeno / Body shop hemp / L'Occitane hand creams, but it's probably just finding one that works for you. If my hands (or feet) are particularly dry, I put lots of hand cream on, then go to bed in cotton gloves (or socks). It's uncomfortable, and they come off during the night, but it really helps.

RoyalFamilyFan · 24/12/2021 19:54

Dont have things injected into your hands. Hands are incredibly important for everyday life so you really don't want to do anything that might lead to complications.
Moisturise and also look at whether nail length/polish is the most flattering. Like makeup, these things should change with age.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/12/2021 21:16

Why in the name of Gods Green Earth would you have anything injected into your hands that was non medical ? Especially Botox ( hello - toxins that are designed to relax nerves )

In loads of photo shoots they will hold the hands upwards to 'drain' the colour . Makes them appear whiter and less puffy .

If you want to go down the WTF/Eh? route , in the USA silicone fillers are fairly commonplace under the ball of the foot ( as an inner cushion) though the risk of silicone breaking up and travelling , and it would need to be string enough to bear the weight but soft enough not to fracture or act as an irriitant .
Or have your 5th toe and metatarsal removed to fit into those lovely narrow shoes .

Hands especially (and feet) are complex , essential structures .
Don;t mess with them Xmas Smile

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/12/2021 21:17

non medical as in not for medical reasons

LadyJJ · 24/12/2021 21:21

I was thinking more like intensive moisturiser...

BodyShop hemp hancream

Or anything on dampish skin and cotton gloves

LadyJJ · 24/12/2021 21:48

@70isaLimitNotaTarget literally looking at the Mickey Mouse gloves on Amazon 5 mins ago, ty!

This has worked magic on my hands which DD likened to the dried chickens feet we give to the dogs.
I put it on last thing at night and my hands are baby soft for a few days afterwards.
Highly recommend.

LumosSolem · 24/12/2021 23:37

@LadyJJ I really like these collagen infused gloves from Amazon- I'm 33 but I can definitely see a difference myself after using them and they make my hands feel really nice. They definitely make the skin look a bit more plumped up.

I always find a good scrubbing with a hand scrub once a week followed by some hand cream makes a big difference.

Age spots on the backs of the hands can also be removed with IPL.

LadyJJ · 25/12/2021 09:33

I've bought the mask things, some gloves and hand cream. I'm gonna grease them up for a couple of weeks see how they go.
Thanks everyone ☺️

You can get hand cream with SPF, and also a night cream with retinol, both might be good for long term improvement of skin tone on the hands.

Craftycorvid · 25/12/2021 22:24

Witchy hands? And you say that like it’s a bad thing? Mwah ha ha ha! So, after you have terrified all the kiddies and been round the neighbours with your basket of poisoned apples, may I suggest Clarins Juenesse de Mains hand and nail cream? I find it brings up a working witch’s hands a treat. I’ll get me broom....

LadyJJ · 26/12/2021 15:23

@Craftycorvid ha that made me laugh!

LovelyLupins · 26/12/2021 15:27

Once you’ve intensively moisturised, look at different nail lengths and colours of polish. Shorter, squoval nails will look more youthful (and less evil) and I would avoid very dark colours.

LadyJJ · 26/12/2021 22:27

@LovelyLupins you're right, I have pointy red nails which I suspect are adding to the general Evil Queen aesthetic.
Next time I'm having short nude nails as I usually do

NoToLandfill · 26/12/2021 22:37

OP what you are not realising is that nobody's hands look good in a close up. If you look on Pinterest for nail art ideas the hands are always photoshopped!

Nivea cream on every night & gloves on when out of the house in wintertime. Summer time keep a mini bottle of spf 50 and constantly put it on the backs of your hands.

And don't take any more photos of your hands. Solved!

RoyalFamilyFan · 26/12/2021 22:47

I think as you get older, the length of nails, shaping and colours need to change. Long pointy red nails are ageing on older hands. I think simply changing this will make a big difference.

mrssmiling · 27/12/2021 07:59

My hands seem to have aged horribly in the last year - the drying effect of hand sanitiser hasn’t helped! I use L’Occitane hand cream, and sometimes slather it on and sleep in cotton gloves from Boots. I’ve also started using rubber gloves for washing up. Seems to help. And yes to nude nails - more flattering.
