Shampoo for greasy roots teenage hair

Teen dd doesn't like to wash her hair too often but just lately it's been getting greasy at the roots within a day. I've told her to shampoo the roots most and then only apply conditioner from her ears down. Any suggestions please? As natural as possible as she's very into that.

You need shampoo without silicones or parabens. I use Kevin Murphy (avaliable from Cult Beauty/Feel Unique). Its very pricey but you only need a ten-pence-piece sized amount. It doesn't lather like traditional shampoos so you do a double wash, the first wash strips the hair of all grease/build up and the second wash will then lather to show its clean. A bottle is £24 but lasts me about three months.

I used to wash my hair every single morning and by the end of the day it would be greasy again. Now I wash my hair every three days and thats even with going to the gym inbetween. This shampoo is AMAZING!

It is also vegan, against animal testing, all natural where possible, the bottles are made from recycled ocean plastic and at present they plant a tree for every bottle sold.

All the females in my family have long thick hair and we all brush our hair with Mason Pearson bristle brushes and wide tooth combs for when hair is wet.

Regular brushing distributes the oil through the hair and does not stimulate the scalp to produce more oil.

She's washed it with OGX Brazilian keratin whatsit stuff tonight and it is beautifully soft and shiny and for once her roots look the same as the ends. Let's see how long the freshly washed look lasts. It's quite thick and prone to waviness and mad fluffiness in damp weather like mine but is a beautiful golden blonde with rose gold tints. I suggested the clay one and she wasn't keen saying it would dry her hair out too much. I'll bear it in mind though and she is going to try the faith in nature ones.
