holes in my woolies!

Over the past year I have discovered a scattering of little holes in several merino items and one cashmere jumper. All of them similar..

So, I bought some plastic anti moth bags from amazon (lakeland brand) and transferred my stuff into them. Sounds like a solution. But it is bugging me. I have lots of little beetle visitors (they are my friends so not interested in discouraging them Grin during winter, and have to be careful of my clothes.

But now I find getting dressed irritating. I can't just see my clothes hanging, at a glance, like before. This was how i mentally put my daily outfits together, and now that they are all in little bags, in one pile, i can't see them the same. Cardigans are especially annoying as there's the buttons to faff with. Also, taking them in and out of the bags is an arse. I have to fold neatly, place in a certain way to avoid creasing, and then lay up, out of sight. It is cramping my style and lengthening the time it takes me to dress/undress.

Are there better solutions?

The majority of my knitwear live in Waitrose ziplock bags, each clearly labelled with colour, style and make so I know exactly what's what. I've kept my knitwear like this for almost 20 years and don't find it a faff at all.

Moths supposedly hate cedar and why all wardrobes and drawers should be made from this wood. However, most are not. Another option is to buy cedar hangers and hang your knitwear encased in zippable clear plastic hanging bags. (This is how I store my wool coats and long woollen skirts).

As an aside, I hope you washed each item before placing in each bag, and then froze for 48 hours otherwise you might not have killed any larvae.

Would some polaroids, or printed off phone pics on the inside door of your wardrobe help you outfit plan better?
