Kevin Murphy

I was convinced following a recent hair salon visit (cut + balayage) to buy Kevin Murphy Angel wash and Angel rinse. I love the smell and my hair is looking okay I think but I am struggling with tangles, lots of them.

I have very fine, thinnish (coloured obvs) hair that is just below shoulder length and I think I’m breaking it by trying to comb out the knots.

I’m trying to be ‘conservative’ with the amount of conditioner I use (it’s bloody expensive for a tiny bottle), is there any product that I can use to help with the knots?

Thanks

I had a mini Oribe detangling spray which I absolutely loved, but it is the very definition of not cheap.

Or - a Wet Brush? I was cynical but it is loads better than a comb, I have one like this: Wet Brush

I actually already use a wet brush already (don't know why I said comb!) but it's still so knotty and sounds like my hair is breaking 😬

Aussie leave in conditioner is amazing for detangling - I wouldn't bother buying any other brand

I also rate oiliciuos I can't spell it but I don't bother trying to get a brush through my hair before I've used it

I also bought into KM Angel wash and conditioner once, also at the hairdresser's. It started out okay but got progressively worse as I used it. Throwing more product at it to fix ones that aren't working for you is probably not the best way forward IME.

Tbh it sounds like you're suffering with protein overload, iirc the Angel line has a lot of protein in both the shampoo and conditioner and if you use any styling products marketed at thinnish damage prone hair, they often also contain a lot of protein. It can be too much of a good thing, a clarifying wash and a deep conditioner may help. Perhaps switch out the conditioner for one with less protein for a bit after that if you want to use it up and then use a milder shampoo with the conditioner to use that up.

Thanks for this info- I will try switching my conditioner tomorrow to see if it helps!
