Dyson Hairdryer

Does anyone own a Dyson hair dryer? I have really thick hair that takes me forever to dry so I end up with a wet ponytail most days. I'm just wondering it if it's as fast drying as they say as I bought a fast drying babyliss one and it still takes forever.

It’s great. I have long thick hair. It dries my hair under 10-15 min.

Yes it is quick and my hair is in good condition. I don’t use every day though.

I have long frizzy hair. I usually blast it with a regular drier and then straighten.
Does anyone know if just blasting with a dyson would get it straight?

Yes. Have thick past-shoulder hair. The Dyson and a water softener actually changed my life Smile

It's quick, Abd my hair straighteners easier afterwards

@Motherofmonsters

Sorry OP, I have very thick hair (They always get 2 hairdressers to dry it at the salon) I bought the Dyson hairdryer with very high hopes & I was so disappointed with it I ended up selling it & bought myself a £30 Remington one instead!

I never found it dried my hair any quicker, which was the key thing for me. I think I paid around £400 for it, this was when it had only just come out. If you're going to get one, buy a second hand one, or see if a friend/hairdresser has one for you to trial first.

I have thick hair too and only use it with the diffuser. It still takes a while with my dyson, but it is much quicker than my old normal hairdryer used to be.

MsSquiz · 28/11/2021 19:57

It dries my long thick hair a lot faster than most hairdryers, without the need of having it on the highest setting and burning my head!

My hair is also super frizzy so I like to run the straighteners over after I've blow dried, but even that is much quicker than it used to be (I also have the dyson straighteners)

I have mega thick long hair and have the airwrap. It's truly life changing- 30 minutes from wet to bouncy blow dry. I can't get the curling bits to work but the smoothing attachments are amazing.

AnnaSW1 · 28/11/2021 20:09

It's quicker. My hair is less frizzy but still needs straighteners afterwards

I'm the opposite. Can get the curl attachment to do waves but the smoothing brush doesn't do anything for me.

I got mine on QVC so I could send it back if I wanted (I kept it though as means I can have reasonable styled hair without straightening)

It comes with a hair drying attachment which is fairly quick.

Smartiepants79 · 28/11/2021 20:13

I do like mine. Can’t say I’ve paid attention to how quickly it dries!
It take maybe 4 minutes to dry my longish hair. Not particularly think though.

Thanks everyone, it sounds like it might make a difference in time.

Just need to persuade DH to get me one for Christmas
