Puffy sleeve blouses and ironing

I like a puffy sleeve, but ironing them is a pain, they end up spending a long time at the bottom of the basket. Do I need a steamer?
If so which one? Some of my tops are like this one from hush so not just thin and silky.

You can buy an ironing board just for sleeves, I saw them the other day and wondered why anyone would need one

I have one of them, but it doesn't really help with the puffy bits.

I love my steamer - it's great for things like weird sleeves, pleats, etc. I also enjoy using it much more than ironing! I have a handheld one that I bought overseas, can't find the model I'm afraid.

I have a little hand held travel steamer from Amazon that I use for anything like this (actually I use it for everything as I hate ironing but it’s particularly good for puff sleeves, pleats etc).

What about a sewing ham to put it the sleeve as you iron around it?

I haven't needed to iron proper puff sleeves for ages, but I used to iron some of DC costumes with them quite often.

I used a large paired ball of socks or a folded tea towel and insert it into the sleeve, then apply steam using the steam button on the iron.

A 'ham' as Leah has just described sounds similar.

To clarify I always used my ordinary iron and pressed the steam button. Though a proper steamer might make the job easier.
