Looking for a 'cool' backpack

DollyPartBaked · 25/11/2021 19:11

Possibly could have posted on the Christmas thread as is a Christmas present!

I need to buy a backpack for a 30-something to take their laptop to work (and other stuff) but a bit at a loss. Everything looks either too studenty or too smart! He doesn't ever need to wear a suit and works in advertising so everyone is fairly young and fashionable.

Anyone got any good ideas? Help is appreciated!

Bobby backpacks are nice

I’m too old to know if it’s in the slightest bit cool though!

jay55 · 25/11/2021 19:34

What's the budget?

eurochick · 25/11/2021 19:47

Ted Baker have some nice ones but Hershal seem to be the bag of choice for 30somethings on my commute.

SuperJune · 25/11/2021 19:48

I really like Patagonia Smile

I'm in my thirties and work in a 'trendy' part of London. A couple of friends of mine have bags from Good Ordering.

chouxfleur · 25/11/2021 19:54

I was going to say Good Ordering too

Riut bags are stylish and anti-theft - www.riut.co.uk/

IvorCutler · 25/11/2021 21:11

Rains maybe?

DollyPartBaked · 25/11/2021 22:03

Thank you all.

I looked at Rains but the straps seemed a bit thin and didn't like Hershel (I'm thinking it's maybe too young).

Looking into the other brands which I haven't heard of!

@DollyPartBaked I have a Knomo laptop backpack and it's great! Water resistant, trendy looking and fits loads.

justabigdisco · 25/11/2021 22:14

Roka London

DollyPartBaked · 25/11/2021 22:16

Meant to say budget is up to £100 (I mean I could go over but I'm not thinking leather or a particular designer bag so I'm assuming that's enough to get something decent).

I have a Coach one, I love it.

This isn't the one I have but it's equally as nice:

Fjallravens are pretty cool and come in many colours.

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 25/11/2021 22:33

Chrome industries are good

FissionMailed · 25/11/2021 22:39

Osprey packs.

They're costly, kinda, but they have a lifetime guarantee and they're the best packs I've ever used.
They also do many many styles, from everyday packs to hiking for 6 months backpacks.

Second Roka!

Stubble and Co has some nice ones.

Unoriginal43 · 27/11/2021 07:15

Madlug - they are a sustainable brand and donate a bag to a child in care for each purchase

WeirdArchitecture · 27/11/2021 12:42

Those Good Ordering ones remind me of the 70's, like a shopper bag!

Too many pockets for me. I'd prefer Kanken but i do find that they become 'used' and tired looking really quickly, even though they are fabulously long lasting and good quality.
