Dermaplaning - views?

Hi all,

I have a very hairy face - have had electrolysis for years, wax upper lip etc but have a lot of fuzz and struggle to keep it all at bay. It's making me feel increasingly self conscious, esp the hairs on my lower cheeks.

My beautician who does my electrolysis suggested I try dermaplaning. I am interested to try it, although worried that, as it is basically shaving the face, my hair may come back even more visible and become more difficult to keep under control. Does anyone have any experience of it?

TIA xx

Love it, do it at home with a sheisedo blades I buy from Amazon around once a month. No change in the hair on my face at all when it grows back except the very first day of re growth (three or so days later for me) it feels a bit more spiky but it only lasts a day ish. It’s just because you get a cut edge instead of a tapered edge growing back. Definitely no increase in darker or thicker hairs. It really improves my skin as it exfoliates as well as removing hair. You can have it done in a salon if you want but I watched a video on you tube by Susan yara (mixed make up) which explained the process really well. Oh word of warning the first time I did it I was so amazed at the dead skin coming away I ended up getting a bit carried away and ended up with a red forehead for a day!

Thank you for the reply! So if the hair starts to come back on day 3, how is that worth it and a good thing? Sorry just trying to ge FMG head around it, as my beautician said it would only be done every 4 or so weeks xx

Sorry autocorrect! That should say 'trying to get my head around...'

I hear a lot of people saying it only needs doing 'every 4 weeks'. I do it myself, and like to do it weekly as my fluff grows fast - and is probably longer than some other people's.

I love it, have done it for years - gets rid of all fluff, and any big spikes that come through I pluck them out. I have had electrolysis in the past as well, can't have laser as I'm blonde.
