I want to get some for me but also for my tween DS who's starting to get breakouts.
I had a look at the Blessy site yesterday and could not find out how much they charge. Which makes me think I can't afford them...!
Are there other brands people would recommend that won't break the bank but will do the job and wash well?

I've got a debenhams one that's lasted well. No idea if the new debenhams sells them though.

Lovewins · 21/11/2021 16:23

Try Amazon (I know) and look for mullveru silk. I have a couple from there that were about £20- you have to hand wash silk though so bear that in mind.

Lovewins · 21/11/2021 16:23

Think it was called Alaska Bear

Lovewins · 21/11/2021 16:23

Mulberry silk 🙄

Buttercup72 · 21/11/2021 18:23

I got one from silkgifts.co.uk - came in a lovely presentation box as I’m buying as a gift, really pleased with it, might treat myself 😃

SpecialBreak · 21/11/2021 19:18

I got mine from Dunelm- it was the cheapest proper silk one I could find and is machine washable. I love mine

apinions · 21/11/2021 23:04

I buy mine from Silk Jasmine. Think they're £15 and only have silk on one side, which is good as means doesn't slip around the bed at night. I machine wash delicate.

EBearhug · 21/11/2021 23:05

Mine are Lilysilk.

Talisin · 22/11/2021 00:17

I’ve had these ones for six years now and they’re still going strong. Machine wash with no problems.

Kummerspeck · 22/11/2021 00:25

I bought mine from John Lewis and they have lasted well

Second a Dunelm one. Mine is over a year old and is still like new. I love it. My skin and hair are so much more healthier for it.
Wondering1000 · 23/11/2021 21:04

Do they actually make a difference? Is it worth it?

FestiveMayo · 23/11/2021 21:05

Yes

FuckmyHead · 23/11/2021 21:12

Do not get blissy, not because the cases are shit but because the website and price you THINK you are paying is not clear at all until it’s too late! Plus they don’t mention the extra custom cost/import when it arrives in uk … so that was another £15+ so about £150 for 4 pillowcases! … lesson learnt!

SpecialBreak · 23/11/2021 21:16

I have my dunelm silk pillowcase on a Sleep Easy pillow, made such a difference to my skin. I don’t wake up with deep lines that take a while to “settle” anymore!

Wondering1000 · 23/11/2021 21:24

Ok what do they do though? Do they make your hair shiny or something?

FestiveMayo · 23/11/2021 21:25

My hair is smoother when I wake up than if I use a cotton one. And for me the major benefit is not waking up with a massive line across my cheek that takes a while day to fade.

Thanks for the feedback about Blissy, I’m being spammed on Instagram with adverts for these but am going to order from Dunelm now I think!

Snoopsnoggysnog · 24/11/2021 09:59

And thanks for starting this thread as I want to get one for MIL and SIL for Christmas!

MilduraS · 24/11/2021 12:04

I got mine from Lilysilk. They often have discount codes floating around. I haven't noticed a difference with my skin (long term acne sufferer) but my hair is less of a birds nest in the morning.

KineticSand · 24/11/2021 15:44

My M&S one is lovely and goes in machine in a delicate wash.

chesirecat99 · 24/11/2021 16:00

I think Blissy ship from the US so you may have to pay VAT and customs handling fees to the courier.

I have Lily Silk 25 Momme pillowcases with the concealed zip. They aren't the cheapest but they are fine in the washing machine and robust. Cheaper/thinner pillowcases can be a bit see through and are more delicate. I think the zipped pillowcases last longer as the envelope ones move more so wear more quickly from friction IYSWIM?

I would either go for cheap and cheerful from Amazon to see if it helps or the best quality when there is a discount.

EBearhug · 24/11/2021 16:36

I recommend the zipped pillow cases, too.

Haffiana · 27/11/2021 10:41

Blissy don't incur any extra charges and have fast delivery- I have ordered several for me and as presents. The colour ranges are really good. Make sure you are using the uk website. I think some pps have not managed that hence confusion about prices etc.

I have also used John Lewis which are excellent as well, but not as exciting colours. They are 20% off as well for Black Friday.
