Properly moisturising shampoo & conditioner for curly hair?

Has anyone managed to find anything that actually genuinely makes your curls feel more hydrated/moisturised?

I'm not really a fan of co-washing and also don't want to spend a huge amount unless strictly necessary. Any recs appreciated!

Curlsmith and redken are really nice.

Ors olive oil.
Low cost and high performance

Which ones do you recommend @Siennabear?

@Postdatedpandemic how does that work? If I'm not a fan of co-washing I'm not convinced olive oil will be a winner for me 😁

Sorry @postdatedpandemic I've just realised I've seen that brand in Superdrug. What kind of hair do you have? I did actually preciously use the L'Oreal olive oil shampoo and liked it, but they discontinued it.

I really rate the only curls products, i have been using their shampoo, conditioner and styling products for a good few months now and have seen such a difference in my hair!
I also use this conditioner once a week at least because i love the smell and it’s mega.

Olive oil shampoo, finger comb a small amount thoroughly through hair, don't expect bubbles, wait about 2 mins and rinse well. Condition if necessary.
I've spent so much on posh crap over the years. This stuff is great.

My hair is 2C to 3A, Caucasian and loves to frizz ( not helped by savagely hard water)

Laquila · 16/11/2021 17:53

Thanks @Postdatedpandemic - your hair sounds very similar to mine. I'd never really considered the water softness factor actually!

I agree the Garnier Hair Food is quite good, especially price wise. I use the banana one.
Water definitely makes a huge difference - when I visit my parents in Edinburgh, I time my hair washing (usually once every 5/6 days) so I wash it in the soft water and it transforms it. Where I live, it's nothing like as soft and the curls are never really bouncy.

Noughty To The Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner are good for my wavy curls

Laquila · 16/11/2021 19:38

Thanks all! I've tried the Banana Hair Food shampoo and conditioner/mask and they seemed to make my hair a bit fluffy. I don't so much have a problem with softness as with hydrated-ness, I think...but I've a lot of greys now and that's really changed the texture and curl pattern, sadly. I've seen a lot of recs for Curlsmith so I may start there if I can find some products on offer. I've marked down the ORS to try too. Thanks everyone!

I like Aveda. I'm coveting Only Curls London so I'm planning to move over once I've finished my Aveda shampoo.
