can someone guide a wobbly belly into flattering party dress?

shopping Saturday for party sat night (I know should have done it earlier!)

5ft 7in size 14 good legs, good arms, but 5 month pregnant style wobbly belly (although sadly not pregnant!)
All the dresses I have tried make me look pregnant - please help me find something that skims / looks flattering on a wobblier belly!

No more than £100

Please

Do M&S still do those magic dresses that squidge you in?

Otherwise, you want something structured (no tunics) - not sure what though...

Chloe55 · 13/12/2007 21:16

Opt for something strappy but with a belt around the middle (hides flabby bellys but creates a waist), maybe something like this from monsoon:

CV I have often wondered if putting rouched bits on my biggest bits is a good idea? am I putting a big arrow saying look at my tummy?

I like the shape of it and colour - Hmm
Thanks

crappy website

karen999 · 13/12/2007 21:36

If you have a good top (ie arms) and good legs then you may want to consider one of the large belts which tighten around your waist. They are very flattering as they draw attention to your top and bottom half (not your tummy!!)

CaptainVimes · 13/12/2007 21:36

that first hobbs link went to the cardigans for some reason (it may be trying to tell me something)

try again

he red audrey dress here

MerryPIFFLEmas · 13/12/2007 21:43

get a rego waist cincher
dogs bollox

NappiesGaloriaInExcelsis · 13/12/2007 21:47

what you want, is these you can get them in johnlewis, or order online.

they absolutely kick arse and will make you feel all firm and taut again. are not too uncomfy as are made of stretchy material (like tights) dont produce refugee rolls of fat in odd places and - you can pee with them on !

marvellous things. love em.

JingleyJen · 13/12/2007 22:04

Thanks all - I think I will go to John Lewis - Buy some Spanx - then go trying on dresses.
I love that Hobbs Red Audrey dress. Will phone local Hobbs to see if they have one I can try on.
