Help me dress my daughter

My daughter needs an outfit for evening occasions. She prefers to dress in a masculine style but not in actual boys/mens clothes iyswim. Her day to day wear is hoodies, science logoed T-shirts, utility pants and trainers or DMs. She has asked for a trouser suit. She likes the look Tilda Swindon has. She’s a tall, slim (uk size 4 with ridiculously long legs - it’s not fair! 😂) 14 year old who does not want to really look older than she is. She would not, for example, go topless or wear a crop top under the jacket. She would not wear heels of any sort, and would prefer a boot instead of a dainty shoe. Can anyone direct me? It was the late 80s when I was her age and it was all about shoulder pads and Ra-ra skirts!

ankle graze black trousers

Then a fitted blazer

Chunky dm style shoes

Either a thin polo neck jumper or a plain fitted shirt

Depending on how bright so wants it, In The Style have some lovely suits Smile

What Bernadette said. Your DD sounds like mine in terms of dress and if I suggested a playsuit it would not go down well!! DD tends to wear black jeans, black top and DM boots as her smartest option, she won't engage in dressing up at all.

Absolutely no play suits! I’ve just put 4 completely unworn ones in the charity bag.

I'd have a look at Suits on the Zara website for a starting point. Lots of different colours and oversized slouchy styles. The models are wearing them with lots of different styles of top underneath, and different footwear, not just bra tops and scrappy sandals that other brands seem to deem ubiquitous.

Monki is a great shout generally.
