I’m looking for suggestions for a decent foundation. My favourite in the past was maybelline dream matte mousse. They’re not cruelty free so I can’t justify buying it. So maybe any suggestions for a mousse kind of foundation from a vegan brand?
I bought Kat Von D foundation and it’s disgusting. I hate it.
I’ll say £30 is my top limit.
(I’m pale/light/porcelain/ivory etc incase that’s necessary info)

The use of animals to test cosmetics products or their ingredients is banned in the UK and all other member states of the European Union. Since March 2013, it has also been illegal to sell cosmetics products within the EU which have been, or which contain ingredients, newly tested on animals.

Even so, some countries still require animal testing e.g. in China in order for products to be sold there. This is carried out by a third party but the companies are aware - they can of course decline to sell to those markets. So even if not tested here they are not in fact cruelty free.

OP I use Bare Minerals but Too Faced And Huda Beauty are supposed to have good foundation. I buy other things from them but rarely wear foundation and have had oily skin so the loose powder has suited me from BM.

Not sure on the Vegan part though, I think this varies from product to product so would have to check.

Some companies allow their products to be tested on animals in other countries though. I’m not interested in those companies.

I bought some vegan make up from Boots at the weekend and I noticed that they had a lot of different foundations in the range. NYX Professional was the brand. I'm afraid I didn't think about the testing aspect which I should have done - sorry.

Have you used it yet? Is it good?

If it’s vegan, it wouldn’t be tested on animals. Otherwise the company would be called out on it big time, so don’t worry.

All of Superdrug’s own brand is buav and so is M&S own brand.

I don’t use things tested abroad either.

It's not a fancy brand, but I rate the Elf Cosmetics foundation I recently bought. Vegan and cruelty free:

I have the Revolution pro concealer from superdrug and it's fantastic. I searched high and low and tried a lot before finding it.

I don't wear foundation but if it's anything like the concealer it's worth a shot.

Gloriapunniford · 12/11/2021 20:14

Revolution or Tarte shape tape.

The Tarte one is a concealer but actually gives great coverage as a light foundation.
