Is it impossible to do your own french manicure?

I had my nails done professionally on saturday and thought 'i could do that'

so today I bought some french manicure stuff and made a right dogs dinner of it. The white stuff is good with a stiff shaped brush but it still looks bodged when I put it on

Any tips, I am about to do my 3rd attempt

some kits come with guides to seperate the coloured areas whilst you paint them iykwim?

I always find it easier to put the white on from side to side in one or two swishes rather than just dabbing on he tip. Let it dry thoroughly before applying the top coat

I could never do it right. The whites were always patchy and wonky and just looked all wrong.

Much better to get it done professionally IMO

Leighton Denny does a remover solution and a little stiff brush. You paint on thee white tip roughly, then use the brush and remover to "clean" the main nail and just leave the white tip.

It looks dead easy on QVC, not so sure how easy it is in real life!

I do mine ok and people think it looks quite prof. I dont paint a pink layer. I use a Sally Hansen nail tip whitener pen and then when dry go over with a clear coat. really simple.

I get the sally hansen pen from Ebay because I think they only sell them in US.
