LED face masks - recommendations

I would like to invest in an LED face mask. Lots on the intranet, lots of paid for promotions endorsing them etc. but hard to work out if online ones are really as good as in salon masks

So far am considering Light Salon Boost £395 in JL or CurrentBody Skin £279. They look the most comfortable (as some hard masks get bad reviews for comfort) but they only do red or inferRed and I would have preferred other colour options.

Has anyone had any success with LEDs?

I said this on another thread - I have the current body LED mask. I used it religiously for about 3 months and saw a very small improvement in skin tone and texture.

I got bored with it and started using the M&S VitaminC 3 minute mask every few days which gave EXACTLY THE SAME results, if not better.

Reading a bit further, I think the only LED home masks that give better results are the very top of the range ones at £400 plus.

Salon LED treatments are stronger and more targeted at specific problems, so probably better bang for your buck at getting results.

Thanks @DedalusBloom I do not want to throw away £300+ if it's just a weak version that isn't really going to do much. I did look for an existing threads on beauty but couldn't find one.

I am pretty good with my skincare. I use Medic8 vit c oil and day cream. I have a facial every 4-6 weeks now too.
It's all good but I'm mid 40s and the lines are coming.. pigmentation.. skin is flaky despite this. Otherwise I need to look into a peel / Botox next year I think.

Thanks *@DedalusBloom* I do not want to throw away £300+ if it's just a weak version that isn't really going to do much. I did look for an existing threads on beauty but couldn't find one.

I have Botox and a small amount of lip filler on a regular basis. I use Dermatica tretinoin, a good VitC serum, a sunscreen and a moisturiser and that is it. Oh, and I use a self tan from time to time.

I also have my eyebrows micro bladed very naturally ( filling in existing gaps rather than having huge unrealistic fashion brows) as I want to be able to get up and do the least amount to my face possible. I find now that I am perfectly happy going out with little or no make up on, whereas before, despite using tons of product, I didn't feel my face was great.

I stopped bothering with creams and serums that just don't do anything and went in with the big guns. The cost probably evens out considering how little I buy compared with what I used to spend on skincare.

I used to really enjoy it ( the faffing around with creams and jollops) but I find it annoying now. I just want my face to look rested and normal with the least amount of input from me.

Everyone's mileage varies of course. If someone has unlimited funds and time then they might enjoy the process of trying lots of product. Facial exercises are supposed to be very good but it's a long process and you have to stick at it.

Honestly, I genuinely don't think you can recreate the effect of Botox and fillers with creams and masks. They are a great addition, but they decorate the scaffolding, as it were. Grin

Ahhh This is the one my beautician uses at my regular facial. If it really really wanted to, I could splash out on a super duper LED, I just really don't want to waste my money.. have blown so much on creams and serums over the years.. @DedalusBloom as you say it's just a faff and costs a fortune eventually. Perhaps a good LED + a sprinkle of Botox might be a better option than £70 creams that seems to make no difference.

*@DirtyDancing * I agree with not wasting your money on face creams. Tretinoin and vitamin C are the only topicals I've found that have really made a difference to my skin.

Bit the bullet and made an appointment with a beauty aesthetics person. Will look at other options before parting with my cash

I have a currentbody and am very pleased with the results. I have sun damaged decotollage and have noticed a real improvement. Use it most mornings before I get up —while scrolling thru Mumsnet—

DirtyDancing · 16/11/2021 14:37

@MrsJackWhicher ooo maybe I will get one! It's sun damage that worries me too. I'm not expecting miracles.. just a little improvement would be a bonus!

I didn’t wear necklaces for a few years because they draw attention to the area that had lines from sun damage -now invisible so can weari little flimsy chains.

@MrsJackWhicher tell me more please!!!! 🙏 My neck is my worst bit. I will pay good money for this!!!
