Cleavage cover?

I'm wearing a jumpsuit to a party next weekend. The neckline finishes at the bottom of my bra in the middle. I don't want to wear a special bra to remove the middle or show that much cleavage. But I don't want to wear a cami that might add lines or bulk. Any ideas? 🤔

As above but you can buy them on eBay some sort of modesty panel there’s different ones

StarlightLady · 06/11/2021 09:38

I’m sorry, l’m quite comfortable with my cleavage showing, it’s much better than my legs, but l never understand people who buy something and then decide they need to modify the amount of reveal. It is rarely successful. Can you still return it and wear something you are comfortable in?

Bavarois · 06/11/2021 09:51

Would a bandeau work? Something like this? Depends how tight the jumpsuit is as it might still show a line, but I have something similar I wear if tops are too sheer or low cut.

@StarlightLady you don't understand using accessories or clothing items to style an outfit differently?

StarlightLady · 06/11/2021 09:59

@Bavarois - Not quite! I understand accessorising, but l don’t understand looking for fundamental changes to a design, that often, in my view, don’t work or look wrong, on something made to be worn that way. Purely personal thoughts of course, and certainly did not want to offend.

StarlightLady · 06/11/2021 10:30

I should add, l base the above on years of experience. I’m one of the top heavy brigade (l rock a 36F bra), l’m happy for cleavage to show, but one has to draw the line somewhere, and any attempts to cover and have things look right have failed.

For the same reason, l have returned dresses and skirts that are too short on me. Purely because l am not going to be comfortable in them in a month of Sundays.

I agree with starlightlady to an extent. I often think that these modesty panels look like the wearer is apologising for something and they can spoil the intentional design of the top or dress etc. Something that comes up higher and you’d feel more comfortable in would
Be the way to go IMO

I have to adapt low cut necklines as I had a mastectomy without reconstruction. My bras tend to be high cut to accommodate breast forms. I use seamless bralettes, sewing in a hook and eye fastener or brooch.

A fine, silky cami won't add bulk.
The bandeau is a good idea, though.
