Olaplex is it worth it??

Just wondering if it is worth it, I have heard great things about it and also others saying they don't see much difference after using it.

I have had balayage recently with bleach so my hair gets knotty and I hate that feeling.

Also what products are best to use?

For a cheaper but still professional product, i would use loreal vitamino colour hair mask, it comes in a big pink tub and you can get it online or at sallys trade stores. Its amazing and only needs to be left on for a minute or two instead of conditioner. Id also recommends a good leave in conditioning spray to help with the knottiness- redken do one.

@MoltonSilver

3 did nothing much at all for my hair. Philip Kingsley Elasticizer however works magic.
Elasticizer makes my fine hair really soft and shiny, but Olaplex 3 makes it thicker, shinier and less flyaway which is what I was after. It just goes to show everyone's hair type responds in different ways to different products :)

Hi there can you give me a name of the Superdrug dupe no 3 thanks ps it does work generally and my hairdresser says it is the only product that chemically restructures hair
I've tried the Pureplex one but wasn't impressed. I was hoping it would work as I was initially loath to spend £££ on Olaplex, but it didn't do anything.

I started using it a few months ago and can’t recommend it enough. I bought full sizes 0 and 3. I think 3 is the best and that is the one I will keep buying. I alternate with Philip Kingsley elasticizer which I also rate hugely.

I hadn’t really appreciated the difference between hair masks (which I have loads of like juice k-pac, keratase etc), leave in conditioners (had high hopes for the Aveda in the green tube, but I hated how my hair felt afterwards) and the olaplex. The olaplex is the one I will keep on buying.

Love this but it’s so pricey.

When a Superdrug dupe was mentioned up thread I went looking (before the link was given) and found something different that I’m going to try:

As someone with thick hair I’m kind of glad I didn’t splash out on olaplex now as so many of you are saying it makes your hair feel thicker!

MidnightMeltdown · 04/11/2021 12:08

No. It made zero difference to my hair, but I don't think that my hair is particularly damaged. I think it's probably only worthwhile if you have very damaged hair.

Olaplex isn't a conditioner so you won't have smooth, sleek hair after using it. It works to repair the bonds in your hair not mask them and smooth them out like conditioner.

I've tried the Superdrug one, pureplex which is also available in boots & Amazon, and it's not the same thing as olaplex but it's okay for the money.

I use 0&3 because I bleach my hair and it definitely has stopped it from having so many split ends and there's less breakage.

Look on look fantastic because you can have discount if you are a new customer. Don't buy from Amazon because they are not an official supplier, check out the Olaplex website for the official stockists or you might get a fake.

Not for me, it left my hair a bit claggy. But I gather it is not a conditioning treatment, it is a 'bonding' treatment meant for bleached hair.
