Can anyone recommend a toner for this skincare routine?

Am 35, fair and freckly with combination skin- some dry bits, some slightly oily bits. A few lines across the forehead and the beginnings of the 11 lines between the brows. Am mostly happy with the condition of my skin, I’ll occasionally get the odd little breakout on my chin or jawline but it’s otherwise pretty clear.

Morning:
Cleanse with LRP Toleriane
(Insert toner here)
Superdrug Simply Pure Day Serum
Nivea Q10 Energy Day Cream

Evening:
If I’ve worn make up I’ll do a first cleanse with M&S Pure Cleansing Balm
Cleanse with LRP Toleriane

Superdrug Simply Pure Night Serum
M&S Absolute Sleep Cream

In the past I’ve tried Kiehl’s Alcohol-Free Cucumber toner, Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir and am currently using Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant toner which I do like but you get such tiny bottles! I’d like to find something that lasts a bit longer than two weeks…

P50, its a game changer. Expensive but worth every penny. It will change your skin

Holy Lord it’s £70!! That’s a little out of my budget…

Cosryx snail munchin one is great

You can get a cheaper gycolic cleanser from superdrug, from their simply radiant range.

Another vote for pixi, their glow or rose tonic are both great - rose is gentler if you're worried about mixing acids etc

@doadeer

Cosryx snail munchin one is great
Do you want it to hydrate or exfoliate?
AngeloMysterioso · 30/10/2021 18:33

@doadeer both, I guess

Unless you're wanting an acid toner, you don't need one. (I like them, because I like that fresh feeling- my favourite is still Liz Earle but I read the other day the formulation has changed)
Acid toners (glycolic, salicylic etc depending on your skin needs) can be as cheap as chips with the same % of acids as the more expensive brands.
Glycolic (AHA) toners are for ageing, mature skin, lines etc and gently exfoliate.
Salicylic (BHA) are for digging gunk out and are more for oily spot prone skin. All the ranges for teen skin contain salicylic.

Personally I don't find toners do both for me.

To exfoliate I'd use Paula's Choice BHA if you're more oily prone or Ren/Pixi AHA if you're more dry.

For hydrating I like this essence from Cosrx

I like Nuxe toners, especially this one

They also have two rose toners, one a mist and the other exfoliating.
