Bought a Dyson Air Wrap and hairdryer from QVC

The hairdryer is good - there's a smoothing attachment which means I don't need to put straighteners over my hair. I really noticed a change in condition - I've bleached highlights and my hair is wavy so it has a tendency to get dry at the ends. So I thought I would try the air wrap instead of getting tongs - because it would be better for hair.
I've really struggled to get the hair to go round the roller bits and it does seem to get hot.
I have medium textured hair so not thick snd not thin/fine either.
I think I need to send it back but wondering if if there's something I should be doing.
It doesn't hold the curls even with product but it's dry ends that worry me z

There's a definite knack to using the Airwrap especially the curling attachments. You need to watch a lot of videos and persevere. It took me about 2 weeks before I really got it but now I'd never use anything else. You have to do the curls from wet/damp and the do a cool blast until their really cold to get them to hold. Your hair sounds similar to mine and I can get the curls to last a couple of days if I take my time with them.

Sorrel how is the condition of your hair? What do you use as product?

It's never been better! Much healthier than when I was using my Curl Secret. I use Redken One to protect before drying.

I've just got one and am in the teething stage too. I find that doing from wet makes the curls last longer, doing from dry makes it wrap easier, so it's a balance.
I saw a YouTube video where the lady was recommending products to use with it. One is the loreal techni art pri shaper. Sadly, I won't be trying it as they test on animals, but might be worth a go if that's not your particular line in the sand.

This is another product she recommends as well. A good hairspray probably helps too(I am just using a cheap one but probably need to upgrade.)

From damp sorry not dry.
Dry doesn't work full stop!

I have also just bought an airwrap and am experimenting with it. The first time I used I dried my hair too much and by the time I got to the top it was almost dry. I also used a lot of hairspray to make it hold which I think was I necessary.
The second time I just towel dried it well and then added serum, heat protector and a curl creme. It's worked out better this time (today) so I will see how well it holds in the morning. I used the 30mm barrels and it's very bouncy. I think I will try the 40mm next time and see if I can get a wave rather than a curl.
I think it will hold better than blow dry then curling with straightens which tends to drop immediately and then goes almost straight really quickly.

From what I have read it works differently depending on your type of hair so it's just something we will have to practice.

Would be great to know how you all get on with it when you've had more practice.

I really don't like my air wrap at all. It gives old fashioned Kate Middleton 'lady' curls. I like more modern beachy waves and they require the ends to stay a bit straight. The air wrap curls the ends and I end up looking like something from Dallas

If you like more beachy waves you are meant to style with the airwrap upside down. I find the curls drop significantly anyway so don't worry about the curls being too tight. m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DmPAT_8Kw6M4&ved=2ahUKEwjvk-iax-LzAhVl8OAKHd0xBoYQwqsBegQIDRAF&usg=AOvVaw3m4Sxhlwd_9eQndSBWYIWV" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DmPAT_8Kw6M4&ved=2ahUKEwjvk-iax-LzAhVl8OAKHd0xBoYQwqsBegQIDRAF&usg=AOvVaw3m4Sxhlwd_9eQndSBWYIWV

This lady does good tutorials on the airwrap.

Another anti-Airwrap person here, too! I tried it and found it made my ends very dry. I returned mine. I love the Dyson hairdryer, though.
