Anyone had a breast reduction?

I’ve always wondered about getting this done and I’ve had some inheritance money so it is a realistic possibility for me. I have dreadful posture and struggle with exercise, my large breasts make me feel much older than I am.
I’d be interpreted know how long the recovery time takes and what you do about work? I have a full time job in an office environment, it would be difficult to take leave because I work for a small firm and I would be letting them down, would I be likely to be well enough work from home after a week or two of recovery?
Any other advice also welcome.

I haven’t but it’s something I am considering - there have been some really useful threads on here before so I’m sure you will get some good responses but also have a read of Sali Hughes’ experience, she did lots of stuff online post surgery abd I found it very helpful .

I had one done about 15 years ago - best thing I've done. Went from a 34J to a 34DD. Had no problems at all apart from a couple of areas which are now numb. Scars are obviously there, but have faded a bit and a trade off for much smaller boobs. The uplift also means my boobs are back to their younger non-saggy selves!

Sorry, recovery time minimal - I was a SAHM, but had three young children so couldn't lift for a few weeks but don't remember anything else being a problem - I could easily have done a desk type job after a few days.

That’s all very interesting. I’ve had a look at what Sali Hughes has said and it seems pretty realistic but not off putting. I’m encouraged that you @boyboyboydogdog have said that your recovery time was minimal. My next worry is what do I tell my employers? I wouldn’t want everyone to know i was having this done!

Am watching this.
I've always hated my large chest.
I wish I had the guts to do it

I have just read that article by Sali Hughes.. have been thinking of this for a long time..
Would like to know where she went..

I hated my DDs - i know that's not 'huge' but I always felt larger than other people, (even at size 10) and I felt it made me look 'matronly'.

I had my breast reduced to a C size, by liposuction. It was (almost) painless, involved 4 little slits through which they pushed the little suction tube - it was all numbed first. Took about 1 hour, not including the pre-meds and checks. I was awake throughout.

Strapped up into a chest binder-type thing, top part of which I had to wear overnight, and the rest about 24-48 hours . Anaesthetic wore off after about 8 hours, and was a but sore, but I was given co-codamol-type pills, which I didn't need after taking the first one; I used ibuprofen and paracetamol for the next day or so.
NO scarring, or bleeding, or even much bruising.
I used a soft sports-type bra for a few weeks while the swelling went down, then got fitted for a C! Grin
Very happy.

Cost about £5000, but this was about 6-7 years ago.

I didn't tell anyone (other than a close friend, and my DP, obvs) and they wouldn't know. I had a long weekend off work - op on a friday, back on monday. No one even guessed - my boobs were swollen after my op, so were prob slightly bigger than they were before, but went down so gradually that by the time I was a size C, they were used to them, iyswim.

I've had one - best decision I've made. Recovered well within two weeks and it's gone from something I was always thinking about - conscious of people looking, weight and discomfort, clothes not fitting etc to something I never think about! A total relief.

I had one done about 7 years ago. Cost £5k. Wasn't as painful as I'd feared, although I couldn't drive or lift or push/pull anything for a couple of weeks. They still look good and sit up by themselves without a bra, although they have inevitably softened over time. Money very, very well spent.
