Back from holidays usual dyed blonde hair looks too light so decide to go darker.. Usual brand but different shade..
Leaves me with green hair...
HD friend tells me the correct shade to counteract the green.

Now goes very dark brown... Look like Goth dd.
Use Hairb4 (used years ago with much success).
No real change..
Try again.. but different brand.
No real change..
Decide to use permanent dark silver (Live)..
Still the previous colour.
Seriously can't afford to go to HD.
Any wise words people?
Apart from should have stayed blonde..

Crikey, that's a lot of intervention!
It went green because you needed more warmth in the brown colour you initially put on.

However, you could try the following but be prepared to condition like hell afterwards.
Hairdressers, do not read any further Grin

Regular Head and Shoulders mixed with 3 teaspoons of bicabonate of soda, 3 - 4 1g vitamin C tablets crushed up and the zest of 2 lemons. Leave it on as a paste for 20-30 minutes.
This concoction should strip the dye out.

Shampoo and allow to dry to assess colour and condition.

Then put a level 8.3 (for dark blonde) or 7.3 (for light brown) on it. I'm not sure how light you were originally?

Oh no - that sounded lovely.
Retry with the rest of the concoction - I have shifted level 4 hair back up to level 8 in the past successfully - worth a shot.

I think you need to stop it for a bit before you make it even worse!

Ds thinks I look like a sheep.

Yep, I'd leave it a while too.

It's going to be wrecked, I'd work on treating it to get it back to a decent condition.

Then do a test strand with a bleach bath, see what happens before doing anything else.

If you must colour it, I'd choose something non permanent/wash in with a red base, as red neutralises green.

The more damage you do, the more porous your hair will become so the darker the hair will go when you dye it.

If you have any hair masks from long forgotten toiletries gift sets, or left over conditioner sachets from the box dyes now is the time to use them. Put it on damp hair, cover with cling film and a towel to keep it warm and stop it dripping and leave it in for a decent while.

Save all the money you would have spent on hair dye and go to a salon. Only person who can fix it is a hairdresser.

Leave it for a while to recover and deep condition - if you use a conditioning mask with red pigment in it, it will cancel the green. You need to get red/warmth into it to counter the green and a temporary colour from a conditioner would be a good way of doing this without causing more damage. Then reassess in a few weeks.
