Crispy hair

I look like a sheep. My hair is nice, thick, somewhat curly, and long. However, possibly because of chemo or (pre) menopause the top part, right from the roots, are really curly and standing up. I look crazy!

I’ve never invested time in my hair. If I have time I’d rather sleep or watch tv than style it, but it’s got to a point were I’m ashamed of it and need to do something.

I have used water and mousse to push it down but rather than a product I think that I need to style it. Do you have my same problem? How do you solve it?

Thanks a lot!

I recommend hair oil, rubbed through the lengths while damp. Makes it soft and silky again, no more crispy.

My hair turned to straw as soon as I hit the menopause (and it is now sprinkled with greys, which are naturally drier). If you'd have told 20 year-old me that one day I would have used oil on clean hair, I'd never have believed you, but it has been a revelation.

Brand-wise, you can go for posh Moroccan oil....but I find Elvive does the job, and it's not expensive. All the brands have started selling it now.

Could it be that it's new hair that growing?
I get this also,my hair is very thick long and curly but I also straighten it and the newer hairs always stick up

Moroccan oil and Elvive aren't really oils - they're silicone-based serums like Frizz-Ease. But silicone can do wonders for smoothing frizz.
