Footwear woes!

Oh stylish ladies, what are you all wearing on your feet now the weather has started to turn? Apologies in advance - this may be long!

I live in white trainers / converse / birkenstocks / saltwaters for as much of the year as I can but I'm feeling the cold now so need to switch to thick socks / tights and jumpers. And I've realised I have no shoes - had a clearout last year and haven't really replaced anything.

I find footwear difficult at the best of times. I'm a wide size 6.5 with high insteps & a wide toe box so can't do pointy type styles. Tend to have to size up to a 7. I have fairly big calves too so prefer something a bit chunkier on the foot to balance things out. I wear a lot of skirts with tights or fairly slim fitting trousers (7/8 length for work usually / skinny jeans but not super skinny as they don't fit over my calves). I'm generally a size 14, 5ft5 if that makes a difference. Don't like heels. I find it tricky with trousers particularly as nothing seems to sit quite right!

I have a burgundy pair of chelsea boots from last year which are ok with skirts, if a bit 'meh'. They obviously don't go with everything & they are the wrong length for any of my trousers. I have some M&S chunky brogues which are quite nice but they make my toes hurt after a while (I get this a lot with shoes but no way of knowing till i've had them on a few hours). Maybe a chunky loafer type thing or a boot with a more fitted ankle - but would have to be lace up / zip up or I wouldn't get my fat trotters in 😂

I usually end up with some sort of biker-style boot which I do like, but it doesn't always work. Looking for a few options for both work (smart casual office, but trainers not really the done thing) and general everyday.

I have a couple of pairs of dark Uniqlo heattech jegging type things which I love when wfh but I don't like them with white trainers - any suggestions? I wear adidas generally - currently have white Stan Smiths, Sleek & Grand Court which all fit well. Gazelles & Puma too narrow in the toe for me.

I prefer leather, budget-wise nothing too extortionate! Probably up to say £120 for boots but could stretch a bit more if I loved them. Trainers / shoes up to £75 ish?

I'm 5.5 E with square feet M&s wide fit shoes in half sizes fit me fine even the pointy ones. You can only get them online.

Have much the same size in both length and width. Have started to buy gabor. Some styles have 2 side zips so you can use them to suit you. Smart casual runners shoes snd boots. Approx 100 but well worth it. The rolling soft runners are so comfy i also use an insert ni problem.

Thanks @Shehasadiamondinthesky I think the brogues & chelsea boots are both M&S so that's a good shout! I will take a look :)

Just had a quick google @Nannyamc. I'd never considered Gabor as for some reason I just assumed it was all shoes my granny would wear (sorry, no offense intended Grin) but actually I quite liked the look of some of those that popped up! I might try to find a local stockist and try some at the weekend.

I am sure you will love them too. Try reiker too a lot are double zipped and wide too

I also have reasonably wide feet, a high instep and solid legs and my favourite boots and trainers for winter are:
Dr Martens Sinclair in the soft leather. They have an odd removable zip thing which made me hate them online but love them in real life. Very quick to put on and very slim around my ankles. Look great with cropped jeans and amazing with skirts and dresses.
For trainers I like Airforce One shadow (must be shadow for the proportions). I actually have to size down half a size in these as they are so roomy! Some of the colourways are less white and therefore more wintery. I think they work well with leggings
